That cryptic tweet launched Riot Games into the rage of banters of frantic Valorant players: “for love. JUNE // 02 // 2025.” Two words-and a date. No background, no trailer…just vibes. The internet immediately burst into excitement.
The tweet, accompanied by an image (possibly a tease of some sort), just went on to destroy the fanbase and engender so many possibilities into their minds. A romantic-themed storyline between the agents? Could this be a Pride Month event? Brimstone gay now? Classic Valorant chaos.
One of the discussions was Killjoy and Raze getting their official romance story. CherryCasts_’s reply went viral in jest: “I’m so down to see Killjoy hold Raze in her arms, gonna be my profile picture for months.” Honestly? Same. The Nanobomb ship (Raze x Killjoy for the uninitiated) is among the most adored ever, with many players begging Riot to make it official.
Not only Nanobomb shipper fury is going on out there. The reply box is a swirl of different demands-Yoru x Phoenix; Gekko x Iso; Brimstone x Kay/O (and yes, someone genuinely asked if Brimstone is gay). Another player pleaded, “Please make Yoru and Phoenix hold hands like, you know, how Raze and KJ are.” Insanity raining down, without Riot confirming a single thing.
The oddball theories followed. Perhaps setting up one of the biggest story moments? Or maybe even death? User heero_time commented, “I hope one of them dies for the plot,” stating that Valorant’s lore is too scattered right now. Others like NerdsCasts quickly shut him down with a “wtf no no one’s gonna die lol.”
And now comes a series of complaints relating to the ranked game mode. One of them, Krampus201418, even spilled out: “4 straight games I’ve had a teammate disconnect mid ranked game. What is this ass?” Because shared suffering is what binds the Valorant community.
But what really is going down on June 2, 2025? That’s the million-dollar question. Maybe a new cinematic? An in-game event? Something crazy like an agent reveal? That one thing is sure-however Riot decides to show up with it, Valorant is going to rush to either glorify or trash it.
So all we really have left to do is to wait, speculate, and maybe go spam Riot’s mentions with more ship requests; after all, alongside shooting each other in its tactical FPS, holding hands is one of top rankings on what the gaming community really cares about.
