Three hundred days have elapsed since Riot Games took Breeze off VALORANT’s competitive rotation, and needless to say, players are still not moved easily on the matter. The very first of these was January and regarded both the tropical shooter map and some changes to the map pool, but judging from a viral tweet stating that absence was now on its 313th day, the community appears to still be holding that grudge strong.

In case you have forgotten (how in the hell could you?), Breeze was the glaringly open sniper paradise, with those evil tube corridors and insane A-site chokepoint, which either made you feel like a god or just dumped your corpse headfirst into next Tuesday.

There were haters of the map-those who could not hit long-range shots to save their life-but the replies (or lack therein) to this tweet speak volumes. When a map is removed, usually people hold a party. But not in this case with Breeze? Absolutely nothing. That’s how you know folks really miss it.

Actually-Riot said it was for map pool health or whatever that translates into; players knew it was really making sightlines so insane, certain agents borderline unplayable. Think of it-short-range pressure? Good luck getting past those mid angles with an OP Jett. It really hurt.

The funny part? There is no rage. Just… acceptance. As per usual, VALORANT Twitter is a war zone hotter than Bind’s showers, but this tweet just flopped down to the ground like a sad balloon.

Maybe everyone’s too busy malding about Sunset’s weird layout to think about it. Or… could it be that people secretly want Breeze back and are too ashamed to say so?

Well, here’s one thing: Riot cycles maps in and out like clockwork so we know Breeze is definitely coming back. The question is when. Will it be next act? Next year? After they’ve nerfed Iso seven times? Who knows.

But if this tweet proves anything, it’s that 313 days later, the map left a hole in the comp scene that Fracture or Pearl just ain’t filling.

So, here’s to Breeze-give it a moment of silence. The map that used to make you rethink your life choices every time you were spawn-peeked…yet somehow…you kind of miss it. Funny how that works! Maybe Riot’s cooking up a rework. Or maybe they’re just cackling over us from their OP towers. Anyway, it’s been 313 days and it’s still going strong. The countdown continues!
