A new teaser for the anime version of Nier: Automata has been released, in which one of the game’s most important new characters is shown off for the first time. The anime version of Nier: Automata will have its authorized anime adaptation that will debut the following year.
The NieR video game brand has experienced a meteoric surge in popularity over the past several years as a direct result of the launch of NieR: Automata, and as a result, it did not come as a shock when it was announced that an anime series would be developed for the project. This brand-new series will offer a fresh perspective on the game’s characters in various respects, and this pertains to the mainstays of the game as well as the other characters.
A preview clip for the upcoming Nier: Automata anime, named NieR: Automata Ver1.1a, has been revealed in advance of the new series’ January 2019 premiere. The teaser features Chiaki Kano in the role of Commander. With the two newly confirmed cast members, Keiko Isobe as Operator 60 and Meari Hatsumi as Operator 210, she will reprise her role as the voice actor for the character she played in the first video game adaptation.
NieR: Automata Ver1.1a is slated to premiere in January 2019 and will be directed by Ryouji Masayuma, who will also be composing the series alongside NieR’s original game designer, Yoko Taro, for A-1 Pictures. While Jun Nakai is in charge of character design and serves as the principal animation director, MONACA is responsible for producing the score.
To date, it has been confirmed that Yui Ishikawa will reprise her role as 2B, Natsuki Hanae will play the role of 9S, Hiroki Yasumoto will play the role of Pod 042, and Kaoru Akiyama will reprise her role as Pod 153. Other main members of the voice cast include Yui Ishikawa, Natsuki Hanae, and Kaoru Akiyama.
