#GeForceSummer: Spotlight on a surprise announcement by NVIDIA of a Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater demo, and the gamers are going bonkers. Said demo prides itself on upping the ante with everything kiddie stuff that the fans loved about the original skate franchise: more skaters to mess around with, new parks to grind on, harder tricks, and a soundtrack loud enough to knock your ears back into 2000.
The demo dropped today. Reactions are flooding on social media. Where some are clinking glasses to their moment down memory lane, others are just glad demo scenes have not yet gone extinct by 2024. DANNYonPC then posted a clip of themselves playing the game. Hype confirmed! Meanwhile, chugada_CHEESE will keep their fingers crossed for an epic soundtrack, because that was half the Tony Hawk experience.
Still, one voice shouts not to let up; HowsYourFaceFeel takes the mic demanding an even bigger invasion of free demos with “make demos free again!” And that does bring an excellent point. Demos were everywhere in the past; now, they are as rare as some Pokémon cards.
César Wade then sparks a nostalgia bomb recalling playing the original on the Nokia N-Gage. That would be the old brick phone that detracted from gaming ambition only just a little bit. If this doesn’t make you feel old, then nothing will.
Then there’s venom-life assuring the strictly positive reactions with the question, “A DEMO!!!!!” Then, biggie_juanito is praising the devs for at least not “butchering” the remake. Because, let’s be real: some reboots kind of hurt.
Now, what would the demo entail? Way more than just a little sip of the series. New Parks. New Tricks. Classic gameplay with a nice modern touch. “Welcome; I’m ready to give it a shot,” says GodzXPro. For sure, me too.
Honestly, if this is what you needed to hear to start dragging out your virtual skateboard, this might well be the one. The demo dropped recently, and judging from the hype, it’s fun to download. Now, please, don’t say we didn’t warn you when you’re humming Superman of Goldfinger for three weeks!
Now, go make actual messes on the pavement. Or, you know, bail hard. Either way, the laughter will never roll away.
