Well, Tomb Raider fans, the wait is over: Patch 1 for the Tomb Raider IV–VI Remastered is now active and being updated. With patch notes out from the dev team, it was almost as if they were addressing that brightness issue (or more like the absence of retro vibes) that has been plaguing you all.

First on the list: brightness adjustments. Of course! We have all been there: squinting into The Last Revelation or Chronicles, trying hard to decipher some ancient hieroglyphs. Well, now, it’s shining bright like a pro. No more guessing if a shadow conceals a secret or bad lighting.

And while we are at it with the vibes, some love went into those retro filters. Whether you’re a purist who wants the old PlayStation look or someone who enjoys cleaner remastered visuals, the choice is up to you. Quite the eye-time machine.

But that’s not all. For the three remaining fans of Angel of Darkness, the remastered character models are in. They say Lara has never looked better and really deserved it. Let’s just say, the title has had… a little reputation, but maybe that’s what aids in some healing of the scars.

Melee combat adjustments are also spot on for combat in St Aicard’s Church. No more flailing at an enemy like a fly! Interactions on the radio? You betcha! Not really huge changes, but it speaks for immersion.

Now the devs have provided the full breakdown link (because nobody reads those, right?). Well, if you’re really into this sort of stuff, do check it out.

Now, the real question: where’s the crowd reaction? Strangely enough, the comments to this tweet are a total ghost town. Not one comment, no hype, just tumbleweeds.

Maybe everyone’s too busy playing the games and leaving a comment? Or is it that Tomb Raider fans are just that stealthy? Either way, these updates are a win and you should be going back to it if you’ve been putting it on hold.

So grab the dual pistols, set the brightness to your liking, and raid the tombs like it’s 1999. Or 2003. Or…whenever those games came out. You get it.
