If there’s one thing that Fortnite players should strap on, that indeed is throwing back hordes of the undead, because it is surely happening; in five days from now, The Walking Dead gets into Fortnite Creative. The announcement sent shockwaves across the community with all the different speculations surrounding what this crossover could mean for the game. Honestly, the hype is real.

A bombshell had just been dropped by the very first tweet of ShiinaBR, and the replies exploded with emotions by the ranges of excitement, confusion, and plenty of skin requests. Some were even grumbling that the content had already been shoved into the game, whereas real excitement seemed to come from the idea of “real zombies” as opposed to Fortnite’s usual purple and blue husks. One sure thing is; this collab is going to show some real changes.

Now, breaking it down. What does it mean for you, really? Well, this is an update to Fortnite Creative that brings Walking Dead-themed zombies, possibly series-famed locations. Judging by some players’ replies, they are begging even more desperately for skins. Clementine, Lee, Negan, and even Glenn were all name-dropped in the comments, which shows the demand for more Walking Dead representation is sky-high.

Speaking of skins, some are hoping that this might herald the return of some of the former Walking Dead cosmetics. How bad could Negan’s bat back bling really be? Fingers crossed for the return of Resident Evil skins too, just to really go with the zombie apocalypse theme.

Of course, a few were just not sold. Some players were confused, assuming the content is already out; then, a few more took the opportunity to ask about unrelated collaborations—I see you, Star Wars and Kratos fans. Someone even wanted to know if this event would be the one to trigger Padme’s return, which… honestly, who really knows anymore? The whole, are-we-still-even-sure-what-we’re-doing-anymore thing makes Fortnite completely unpredictable.

“But come the real questions: is it going to be a full event or just a Creative mode? Some are suggesting it to be a Save the World update, and some are just happy to see real zombies opposed to neon-colored monsters. This couldn’t have possibly come at a better time. Halloween is just around the corner, and this baby is just perfect for the whole spooky spell.”

Of course, the memes must go down. An absolutely hilarious request was made for a “Skibidi Carl Poppa Tycoon” because really, why would anyone have not asked for that? Another reply joked about throwing in light sabers, because why choose between zombies and Jedi when you could have the best of both?

So, what comes next? Given what we could glean from previous Fortnite collabs, we think a whole lot of surprises are in store—think Limited-time Mode or special challenges? And we have to say we have no clue what’s in the Epic Games sleeves next.

For now, mark the date: five days from now, The Walking Dead will be presiding over the Fortnite Creative. For the zombies, for the skins, or just plain ruckus: whatever is agreed upon, it will be wild.
