Nintendo revealed that this popular multiplayer is heading to the Nintendo Switch. This was first reported at the most recent Nintendo Direct, which had a lot of great announcements throughout its duration. This first-person shooter will be available on the Switch as of October 15. That’s not too far away when you think about it.

Being able to play this Blizzard Entertainment title on the go with the Switch’s hybrid design sounds like every competitive gamer’s dream. If you’re not familiar with this game, but do have a Switch, it has been described as a hero shooter. Each match is divided into two teams of six.

You’ll have the ability to choose from a wide variety of characters, commonly referred to as heroes. Each has unique attributes and skills, thus giving you plenty of options in terms of how you want to approach the battlefield. The purpose of each match is to acquire and defend control points. Or, you’ll be tasked with moving a payload across a map within a certain amount of time.

The more you play, the more cosmetic items and character actions you’ll have access to. There are loot boxes included in Overwatch for those of you wondering. However, they’re completely optional. They’re great if you just want to deck out your hero in some pretty sweet swag.

It’s amazing to see Overwatch finally make it to the Nintendo Switch. It seems like the perfect system to engage in these epic battles, especially when you take your gaming on the go. It should give Switch users hours and hours of battle action to look forward to. Now is the perfect time to get in on the action, too.
