The New Year is rapidly approaching, and the Elder Scrolls: Online community is ready to start celebrating. ESO’s upcoming New Life Festival event will be beginning shortly and brings plenty of new goodies along with it.
ESO’s New Life Festival event will begin this Thursday, December 19th, at 10:00 AM EST. Running for two weeks until Thursday, January 2nd, the event brings a myriad of new bonuses and unique rewards.
To begin the festival, players will need to purchase the New Life Festival quest from the Crown Store. This will lead you to the New Life Herald, Breda, located south of Windhelm in Eastmarch. If you completed the questline during a previous year’s event, you can begin it again for this year’s unique rewards.

Completing New Life Festival daily quests will grant a Gift Box. These boxes contain all sorts of goods and rewards unique to the event, including recipes, furnishings, collectibles, and more. The following is the list that Bethesda provides in the update:
- Skinchanger Motif chapters
- New Life recipes
- Lights, lamps, and lanterns for your home to celebrate the Signal Fire Sprint
- Draughts of Stealth and Escape to celebrate the Trial of Five-Clawed Guile
There also will be a number of new mementos and hats, including:
- Sword-Swallower’s Blade
- Juggler’s Knives
- Fire-Breather’s Torches
- Mud Ball Pouch
- Nordic Bather’s Towel
- Colovian Filigreed Hood
- Colovian Fur Hood
Players can also earn up to five tickets a day through the slaying of bosses. Normally these would only be acquirable through the daily quests, but Bethesda decided to reward them through bosses as well due to the postponement of November’s Undaunted Celebration.
Event tickets can be spent on multiple exclusive awards, from Pure-Snow berries to the Skaal Explorer Outfit styles. Also available are all of the previous Pure-Snow Indrik Berries from previous New Life events.
Finally, the event will be bringing in Charity Writs to help celebrate the giving feeling of the holiday. Charity Writs have a chance to appear in New Life Festival Gift Boxes and come in two different forms.
The Deep Winter Charity Writs can be completed to unlock pages from the new Skaal Explorer outfit style. The second writ, the New Life Charity Writs, earn credit towards the “Newly Charitable” achievement and Crystalfrost skin. Players will need to earn twelve of these writs to unlock the achievement and skin.
The New Life Festival will be beginning on the 19th, so players have plenty of time to plan their holiday to earn as many unique rewards as possible.
