The big April 23 news round-up has the Ubisoft announcement for The Division 2 fans. The developers are to appear at the event showing the upcoming Battle for Brooklyn DLC detailing special contents, craziness to expect, and likely some serious loot to aspire for.
Save the date! That was all the tweet from The Division 2’s official account had to say, promising that all further details, including the time, would be made known very soon on the YouTube Premiere.
But if we’re honest here, much like the previous DLCs, this one too is going to be a trainload of fresh stuff: missions, gear, and maybe even a new enemy faction to take down. Brooklyn was already teased, and we need to find out what kind of warzone it has now become.
Pretty odd that there hasn’t been a single reply to the tweet- like none. Zilch. It would usually look odd for a franchise with a huge following. Maybe they are all too busy reloading their LMGs than typing? Or maybe the hype train has not completely left the station yet?
Either way, one would imagine that at least one agent would have shouted “HYPE,” or even, “Finally!” Nope, nothing. Silence.
What will be waiting for us when the Battle for Brooklyn rolls in? If the usual formula applies for all the Division 2 DLC we’ll have some new areas to explore alongside story missions tying into the entire narrative.
And new specialization or two are a given. Maybe a rogue agent boss fight with at least a third rage quit before nailing it along with the other two immersive features mentioned.
And don’t forget, new mechanics can also come into play. Warlords of New York feels the immediate context, which featured SHD watch upgrades. Then we have the Summit, which has the eternal grind in skyscrapers.
Nothing much though, maybe something significant for Brooklyn. Environmental hazards like collapsing buildings or fights within a subway would have made a noticeable change. Maybe even-the twist-playable rogue agents? Okay, those are what we would call “wishful thinking”. But one can dream.
What one can be certain about is that Ubisoft knows how to hook Division players. Sure, they take their time delivering updates, but when they do, they pack a punch, making April 23 quite the significant date for agents around the world. Better not be one of those guys this time who just watches the patch notes instead of the showcase.
Keep an eye on those socials, because once that YouTube link drops, you know where to be. Then, if you are still stuck grinding in D.C., finish those manhunts-Brooklyn is on the line.
