Halo fanatics are going nuts over some glimmering Sangheili artwork and to be honest, so are we. The official Halo Twitter has put out this absolute banger under the tagline “we love this as much as the Sangheili love cool cloaks 🌕”, and oh yes, the Internet has lost its cool. The artwork was created by @grimalkinn07 showing the Sangheili warrior wrapped within an unbelievably dimensioned cape as if about to drop the hottest mixtape ever in Covenant.

First of all, the cape has it all: levels and textures, not to mention tons of the dramatic flair that would even get the nod of approval from the most fashion-forward Elite.

The artist has nailed that alien aesthetic while keeping this a Halo thing-you can practically hear the gravelly voice of an Elite saying, “wort wort wort,” as he struts down a hallway in this thing. The lighting? Chef’s kiss. The mood? Immaculate. The entire piece exclaims, “I’m here to glass your planet, but make it fashion.”

And can we appreciate the halo social media team for maximizing the meme? Their implying they loved it as much as the Sangheili loved their cloaks was peak humor. Like they know exactly what fans love-those little doohickeys that make everything so adored in this universe. Sangheili and their cloaks are similar to cats and boxes in terms of everything else being separated by Halo-put it together, and wah-la!

The tweet too featured #HaloSpotlight, which is the tag usually associated with the official tweets presenting fantastic fanart. Now, that feels like a win for the community at large, but especially because official channels are shouting out towards some really talented individuals.

Recognition issues come nowhere near such keeping fandom alive and thriving. Fanart has forever been the chief concern of the Halo culture, and this is just massive that we see 343 Industries or the social team amplifying that.

Here’s the twist though: right now, there were completely no replies to that tweet which is actually really weird. Normally, such posts see people flooding the comments with statements like, “343 PLS ADD THIS TO INFINITE,” or “I’d sell my soul for that armor core.”

Either everyone was blown away by endless art for a while or somehow the great Sangheili have snuck invisible cloaks around themselves and ghosted all replies. Either way, however, it does not take away how fire this piece is.

If you’re a Halo fan and you haven’t seen this yet, get off your lazy ass and look at it. It’s the kind of art that inspires people to want to open the game, play as an Elite in Halo 3 just for the atmosphere, and pretend like they are as cool as this guy looks. And if you happen to be the artist of this masterpiece? Bravo. The Halo community sees you, and we are obsessed.
