The Division 2: Battle of Brooklyn DLC is officially out, and if anything, everyone wanted to head back to New York since the messy launch. The DLC was teased over at the official division with a tweet saying, “Let’s head back to New York, agents!” However, the replies seem to paint a different picture.

For starters, download and access issues are being had all around. Apparently, @_AlenkaNoire would rather be a player than a buyer, as the person says that he just cannot download it on PS5. Meanwhile, via Ubisoft+, @metadarknal1 and others are stuck in an endless loop getting redirected to the store page. @xIanB1015x summed up the entire fiasco: “Deluxe DLC here. Pilot just takes me back to the store page where it shows I bought Brooklyn DLC.” C’mon Ubisoft! How does this even keep happening?

Then there’s the matter of loading. After being stuck for ten minutes getting into Brooklyn, @freebug62 was met by the never-ending looping audio that suuuuuuuuuuucks, their words, not ours. @coreyhc87 and others report 5-7 minute loading times into content they have paid for. We could swear there’s another one, @irving_kidd, who is staring at the black screen wondering how fresh does this hell feels.

But hold up, there is still more!! Reports of VANISHED stashes keep happening, including @Sunray9876 and @fourfooksakes. Weapons, materials, all that painstaking grinding-poof! Just like that. And @Sunray9876 doesn’t want to hear a thing about it: “I’m asking for a refund on the DLC if this is permanent.” You pretty much can’t blame the guy.

Confusing it is, this new pilot system. @DodgerDave007 had to educate players that you have to “Look to the left when facing boo” to find the new pilot. This does not seem like basic game functionality that should require petrifying a map, guys.

Then enter the Ubisoft antics. @ElBartos70 simply says, “Right now with the reputation have UBISOFT, I pass.”

Okay. When the company name invariably becomes associated with bug-ridden messes, there is perhaps some good quality assurance that the company should be investing in.

On the bright side: @123DeadMuskApp was hyped about any new content while simultaneously trashing the manhunt changes, proving that, if nothing else, Division fans are pretty resilient. @Dead_Rabbits_83 confirms that some of the players are actually getting in through the in-game menu (if they are lucky).

Ubisoft has historically had a shaky track for launches and for the Division; however, this feels a little too glaring. With utility stashes, endless loading, store loops, and general confusion, the first hours of Battle for Brooklyn feel more like Battle With Bugs. Hopefully, the fixes come ahead of time because, at this moment, an explosive burst of player frustration can very much rival the speed of the in-game virus.

Set in New York, the DLC looks promising, but no amount of new content will mean anything if the player can’t get to it. There is also another issue, as highlighted by @punk74001: When is it going to hit Game Pass? Maybe, you know, less tweets about hype and more focus on actually fixing purchase functionality would have done wonders? Just a thought.
