It’s November, which means that Black Friday is right around the corner.
Black Friday is typically a huge day in the gaming industry, where you’ll find huge discounts on everything from game consoles, to controllers, to the games themselves.
Many gamers who are thinking of making a console purchase choose to wait until Black Friday, since they know that this kick-off to the holiday season will be the day in which they can get the best bang for their buck.
Target, one of the largest retailers in the world, is always a huge player in the Black Friday game. The superstore will open on Thanksgiving night at 5 p.m. and remain open until 1 a.m. After a short break, the stores will open again at 7 a.m. for more Black Friday shopping.
But the important question on the minds of Target Black Friday shoppers is, what deals will the store offer on gaming consoles?
Target has a number of discounts available throughout the gaming universe, but its best deal seems to come in the form of a PlayStation 4 bundle, in what is likely to be the Sony system’s last major holiday season.
Target shoppers can pick up a PlayStation 4 on Black Friday for just $200, and it comes with three of Sony’s major titles. The Last Of Us, Horizon Zero Dawn, and 2018’s smash hit God of War will be available with the console at this reduced price.
A new PlayStation 4 is currently priced on Target’s website at $299.99 and comes with Fortnite. That makes Target’s PlayStation 4 bundle a $480 value.
On the other side of the aisle, Microsoft’s Xbox One X will be sold for $350. That’s $150 off the typical price of $500. Shoppers who make this purchase will also receive a copy of Gears of War 5 and a $40 gift card. That’s a $600 value for $350.
Nintendo will have a similar bundle deal as it did for 2018, with the console being offered at $299 with Mario Kart 8 Deluxe pre-installed on the console. There will be no discount offered for the new Nintendo Switch Lite.
Nintendo games will see some heavy slashing, however, with Mario Odyssey, Mario Aces, and Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild all priced at $30. These are hugely popular games that don’t often see a price reduction. A number of other Switch games will be available between $25 and $45.
Black Friday will take place on November 28 this year, but most stores will be opening on Thanksgiving Day, November 27.
Both Sony and Microsoft are expected to launch their next-generation consoles, the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Project Scarlett late next year, so this is likely the final major holiday season for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
