Alright, Star Wars buffs: now, if you could only hold your fort, because Ubisoft has swung a wonderful move for the #StarWarsDay and it is a sale you would want to catch all along. Because the official Star Wars Outlaws twitter account just announced an amazing giveaway that any hopeful open-world cootie sim fan would dream of occurring. And yes, the giveaway involves Nix plushie-layback! Who would say no to a cute little cuddly version of Kay Vess’s furry partner in crime?
What this means is that Ultimate Edition—Star Wars Outlaws—and Nix Plushie, two things that just have that strange power to put a smile on one’s face, are going up for grabs for fans on May Fourth. Pretty simple, right? All you have to do is say who is your favorite Star Wars Outlaws character, tweet that with the hashtags #StarWarsDay and #StarWarsOutlaws. Ten seconds, and you’re all set for that Ultimate Edition and a plush cuddly guy! Terms and conditions apply, so maybe you should skim through them before you start blasting away with you favorites, either Kay Vess or Sliro.
Who makes that choice weirder? Kay is probably the obvious choice since she is the protagonist, but let’s not sleep on Sliro-the crime lord that would sell his own mother for a handful of credits. Or just maybe you’re feeling generous toward ND-5, the battle droid with more sass than a protocol droid inside of a cantina. Whoever it is, Ubisoft wants to know, and they’re looking to reward you with some pretty good swag.
And that Ultimate Edition? What is the Ultimate Edition anyway? Now if it were anything along the gifts of any usual Ultimate Edition offered by Ubisoft, we’d expect it to include the game, a couple extra missions, some badass skins for Kay’s ship, and a digital artbook for good measure. But the Nix plushie? That is the real prize. Just look at him. Small, fluffy, probably squeaky when you squeeze him. How could you not want one in your gaming set-up?
With a mix of the open-world mechanics of Ubisoft and a neat little Star Wars underworld skincare vibe, Star Wars Outlaws is fast becoming the game of the year. We-I-mean-You-are talking-smuggling, shootouts, and of course lots and lots of running from the Empire-or-that-crime-syndicate you pissed-off. The game is set between the Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi, so brace yourself with plenty of classic Star Wars lore blended in with new characters and narratives.
Should the giveaway be against you, then, you still have the game to look forward to; Star Wars Outlaws goes live on August 30th, so not soon enough indeed. Till then, though, you’ve got a reason to be part of the giveaway, eh?
