Nvidia had released SCREAMER Gameplay Trailer, and well, that is pandemonium in the very best way. @NVIDIAGeForce placed a tweet in which it stated the very bold things about the game: “No rules. No brakes. No holding back”; well, the footage sure speaks for itself, doesn’t it? So, fasten your seat belts-this is a hard-hitting racing game.
Revealed during #GeForceSummer by NVIDIA, #GeForceSummer was about a passionate showcase of what looked like a wild arcade racer of visuals and speed. The showcase showed neon-lit city streets, mad drifting, and super destructive physics that seemed like a fast-paced injection of aggression into Burnout.
After the trailer, back in the tweet’s replies, the activity of appreciation went on and on. Gamertag @Stinkabletv came back saying “Ayo Screamer? That’s been a long time jeez. Im down!” which might hint at this being a revival of a franchise. At the same time, @GLxxxvi asked flatly for a code and was ready to jump in and hit the gas without delay.
There are always gonna be a few detractors, though, with @BHoward81 simply stating, “Nope. Don’t like the art style,” and that’s no-one can please all. But the majority comments were positive, such as those by @chugada_CHEESE: “Dig the art style!” and @PepperoniCobra summed it all up: “Love the style!”
Then, comparisons started coming from all corners. @TacK_DriveR83 said, “Reminds me a bit of tokyo highway challenge and asphalt 8 tokyo map,” while @FuryanThe made the obligatory Fast & Furious joke: “No family? Torretto won’t be happy.”
The acceptable thing to recognize is that many appear to recognize the Screamer name. @marcspillman comments: “I used to LOVE this game,” perhaps suggesting this might be a reboot from the 90s racing series. For those who don’t remember, the old Screamer games were famous for their breakneck speeds and realistic-for-then physics.
Really, in among the responses, a huge question has cropped up about whether NVIDIA is actually developing this themselves. @nlth44 asked outright: “Wait, is this made by Nvidia?” Normally, NVIDIA is interested in more silicon and software rather than full game development, which would seem unlikely. More likely, though, they’re presenting a third-party game leveraging their technology.
While still a mystery, the gameplay snippet mentions:
– Mad drifting
– Destructible environments
– Neon aesthetic
– Ambiguous camera angles
– Aggressive AI drivers
Where that timing is so great. During these summer gaming doldrums, maybe just the needed adrenaline of an arcade racer will entertain the gamers. If NVIDIA, even a little bit, has a hand in this, then this is going to be a graphical showcase for the ages.
No official date was given during the reveal, so one can assume it shall drop any moment after the reveal of the gameplay footage. It bears reminding that the game was picked by NVIDIA to be featured during their #GeForceSummer, which might hint at a rather swift release window. Maybe this summer?
Sure thing is that, with the game’s overwhelming appreciation and crazy nostalgia among some players, Screamer is already making noise. The question is whether it can live up to the hype, but judging by what we’ve witnessed so far, this is just going to be one wild ride.
For now, we’ll just go nuts repeating the gameplay footage and guessing what else we could expect. Is there going to be a story? Online multiplayer? Lots of customization? Many things remained very much up in the air from this trailer, but what one hundred percent clearly stated: Screamer never intended to play nice. It is here to make some big racket; judging from all these reactions, the players are all willing to turn the noise way up.
