Get ready, trainers: Salamence swoops into Tera Raid Battles in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet! That legendary Dragon/Flying guy is going competitive, allowing players to have an enormous opportunity at catching this big guy at full glory-because, really, who wouldn’t want Salamence?

This Pokemon actually matters for every type of ground grinder in Paldea. This Pokemon is no ordinary Pokemon; it has seriously legendary stats that bulldoze through battles. For those who are confectioning teams for competition or just want to hoard rare ‘mons, this is the chance to add the most intimidating of dragons to your collection.

It’s pretty much a rare occasion to get patience nowadays. Explaining this reason more, Salamence doesn’t pop out into the wild just like that. Sure, everyone’s favorite and annoying evolve a Bagon, but that takes time and effort (and let’s face it, who has patience these days?). Go into a Tera Raid, and they skip the grind and drop you right into it so you can battle a high-leveled Salamence and maybe catch it, all without any fuss of grinding.

But bet, that’s definitely not all the teras are there for: they’re such an awesome event for farming the rarest of items like Ability Patches and Herba Mystica that even if you’ve summoned a Salamence into your possession, possibly it’s still worth going into these raids just for the loot.

Not too many replies yet on the official tweet, but you know the Pokemon community is gonna be all over this. Expect memes, team comp predicaments, and probably a few horror stories about failed raid attempts. Because let’s face it, Tera Raids can be brutal if you don’t come prepared.

How to combat Salamence effectively? Suffice it to say, with that Dragon/Flying typing, it means that this thing is weak to Ice, Rock, Dragon, and Fairy moves. You should be fine with something like a bulky Tinkaton or a speedy Ice-type like Weavile. Unless you are really confident, of course, do not go in solo.

Again the reminder of how scarlet and violet get ongoing updates from the developers. Yep, it was rocky from the start with those memes all over the internet, but it is updates like this that make players come back for more. Then, considering all those rumors about new Tera Raid events, Paldea still seems very far from coming to a close adventure.
