Out now and a name already in the construction simulator, RoadCraft is for PS5, Xbox Series, and PC, where players bust their gut restoring eight maps with the aid of over 40 machines. There is, of course, a 4-player co-op mode for teamwork.

With the majority of fresh releases, mixed reception ensues. Putting myself in the shoes of those who have already jumped in, together with @cptnemouk, who says “can’t wait to play tonight after the kids are asleep,” others are holding back, including @mattykelland, who waits for a probable Game Pass drop because 50 tho 😳. Fair.

Yet, the game is a bit flawed. Performance issues seem to have been the talk among many, primarily on the PC side, with @TropicNight95 commenting that it has “frame rate issues even on high-end PCs,” whereas @zaneccampbell says that the PS5 version is running smooth. Again, the age-old PC-versus-console debate.

And, in terms of immersion, @zaneccampbell called out some weird things: “trucks showing 80 mph while crawling through mud.” Then, @SkySpiderGirl hit an annoying control bug: “trying to move the mouse or activate scans while using a wheel doesn’t work unless you stop pressing pedals.” Oof. Hope the devs are working on that.

But hey, it’s not all bad. @yorober9 gave it praise for its originality and being a lot of fun, though “quality mode IS VERY BAD” on PS5 and “needs a patch ASAP.” And @SchroederBreno suggested bulldozers and hydraulic breakers for cleaning up those annoying road-blocking rocks. Developers, please take notes!

And the Switch 2 crowd might just DIE without it. @RyanBrandt and @LeVraiClaude63 are begging for a port. Maybe one day.

RoadCraft looks like ticking that box for construction lovers and co-op chaos. Sure, there’s some small stuff to get polished up, but the framework is rock-solid. Now, if you’ll excuse us, we have some virtual roads to rebuild.
