PlayStation has just published the PlayStation Monthly Actors Choice Poll for the month of May, and entries flowed in with hot opinions in the comments box. It was made known in an official tweet by the PlayStation account that the poll was live, so players would have the chance to weigh in on their favorite new title from last month. Naturally, the comments section turned into a chaotic bedlam of hype, salt, and demands that seemed to have no relation whatsoever.
Doom The Dark Ages got much love right from the start, much more than it probably could have absorbed. Multiple responses flat-out name-drop it with one saying, “Only one game for me 🙂 #DoomTheDarkAges.” Another player went ahead to joke, “oh, DOOM for sure… just please hurry and fix that BERSERKER trophy glitch 😅.” Then some others literally weren’t feeling it; some called it “just more doom nothing special,” which is not an unfair critique.
And then there is Midnight Walk, a PSVR2 title with a small but zealous fanbase. One said it was a “visual masterpiece” and a “gem on #PSVR2,” while another lamented, “midnight walk should win this but its not going to :().” Harsh but maybe true, given how niche the whole VR thing is.
Then we also have mentions for Hypercharge Unboxed, with one reply tagging the game’s account outright: “Hypercharge Unboxed 🔋⚡️.” Expo 33 has some more weirdly loyal fans with one saying, “Nothing good released in May, so I’m still picking April’s best; Expo 33.”
And then… the chaos. Random folks started posting responses unrelated to the poll, “Remove Denuvo from @StellarBlade on PC!” said another, “Change your profile pic.” Classic Twitter-ing. Then someone took the opportunity to say “XBOX owns you.”
Some took the opportunity to beg for old Hitman titles, with one pleading, “Can we have Hitman Absolution and Blood Money soon 🙏🏻🙏🏻.” Then there’s the guy who voted for Rust anyway, admitting, “it’s not a new game.”
Then the best part-those gamers who voted for the games they least likely played! One reply read, “Gonna vote even though I only made it past the tutorial 💀.” Truly, the vibe.
In contrast, PlayStation has yet to disclose when the voting ends or what the winner gets; judging from the comments, Doom The Dark Ages will probably most likely take the prize unless a Midnight Walk or Hypercharge uprising takes place.
Here is to saying that this poll was yet another round of ungodly hilarious gamer chaos. Back to waiting then for that inevitable announcement of “most voted game gets a discount.” Or not. God knows how it is with these things.
