The community beta is currently ongoing until the game launches in April.

In Sonar Smash, players will “Collect rings to unlock sonar powers, refill hearts, and purchase stat upgrades at the randomly occurring vendor. Obtain boosts and relics from high scores, daily chests and in-game achievements to enhance your next voyage.” states the Play Store description.

Pixel Pajama Studios released a reveal trailer at the end of January that displays some of the gameplay and music.

The game features sea creatures that are adorable yet deadly. They appear in endless waves, and there are seven types to defeat. Luckily, the dolphin has seven sonar abilities to defeat their enemies.

The music was created by Abstraction Music, which has also lent their musical talents in Danmaku Kingdom, The Maker’s Eden, Nothing Can Stop Us, and more.

Players interested in trying out the game now on iOS and Android can do so now by joining their Discord server or subscribing to their mailing list.

The game contains ads with some in-game purchases. The additional purchases include state upgrades and other random power-ups to boost the dolphin’s way to success.

Sonar Smash is available for preorder right now for those eager to play the game.

Pixel Pajama Studios previously developed Astral Defense, a procedurally generated pixel art space shooter. The game was released on both the App Store and Play Store. “Astral Defense is a tiny pixel art space shooter designed for mobile. Each wave randomly generated and endlessly scaling with difficulty. Collect power-ups and conserve special ammo for more troublesome Alien Vessels. Inspired by retro arcade classics such as Galaga.” states the official description.

Astral Defense is available now for those interested in trying out other Pixel Pajama Studios titles.

Pixel Pajama Studios is also working on a new project called Rainbow Time, starring a uniform running on rainbow rails. The game is still in development, but their development blog will have new information as soon as it is released.
