Things went down when NVIDIA announced their #GeForceSummer RTX Laptop Giveaway with gamers chiming in on the games they would push to max settings. The company got the gaming communities in high spirits, opening that window of opportunity for would-be gamers to snag a GeForce RTX 50 Series laptop and evil little friend.

Just comment #GeForceSummer and the first game you would like to see RTX features enabled in. The responses that followed sounded like a “best of” PC gaming list, with Cyberpunk 2077 being by far the most popular mention as many shouted about multiple-times-hit neon-lit RPG from CD Projekt Red. “I really want to experience Cyberpunk with its full potential,” cried one hopeful gamer, a sentiment shared by many who want to see Night City in ray-traced glory.

But Cyberpunk wasn’t really the only thing on players’ minds. Baldo’s Gate 3 was mentioned a fair amount. Some simply went with, “I really like bg3”-because sometimes words are not needed when the game speaks for itself. Minecraft RTX was another very unusual pick, showing that next-generation lighting is needed for even block worlds. “Minecraft vivid visuals,” another entrant responded, showing that sometimes the simplest of games stand to gain the most from the best tech.

New promises, interesting candidates came from the replies. “Many were asking about Doom: The Dark Ages, with one saying, ‘maybe DOOM or RDR2 to test it out,’ clearly conflicted between pure speed and breathtaking scenic view.” A voice of practicality was heard with the choice of Adobe Premiere Pro over games: “why render videos slow when you can do it at ludicrous speed?”

With such a wide array of answers, the definition of an RTX technology is obviously multi-dimensional across genres. It isn’t just a gimmick, at least in the opinions of gamers from atmospheric horrors of Alan Wake 2 to loots filled mayhem of Borderlands 4 (yes, someone is already preparing for the unannounced sequel). From the airplane simulator camps, it would be nice to sometimes see clouds rendered ridiculously accurately as well.

Co-operative games themselves become somewhat of an interesting subject set amid so many answers. The sheer prospect of winning two laptops has turned heads to some co-op moments. An entrant was already planning to co-op with @R3vB3n in Borderlands, while others can’t wait to outfit their buddies with jaw-dropping visuals too-come to think of it, there’s more than one way to spend a win, actually.

Perfect timing from NVIDIA. As summer is heating up with new games like Marvel Rivals about to release (yet another hotly talked about title), testing opportunities for these laptops just never seem to dry out. The contest itself is a fantastic demo for what the RTX 50 Series is capable of, drawing out those games within the community that benefit the most from the technology.

Once answers started pouring in, it was pretty clear that whether it’s half-life classics like HL2 or Portal that needs trudging are further pushed to the limits with new titles, with gamers hungry for that ‘Rtx on’ treatment. The contest continues through Laptop Week unless things keep going the way they have been; then, they just might have to make this a regular occasion. Who wouldn’t want a shot at cutting-edge hardware while furiously fangirling over their favorite titles?

Meanwhile, entries keep on rising with the #GeForceSummer hashtag. Responses prove that visual fidelity still matters in gaming, whether they’re dreaming of path-traced cybernetic sunsets or want to see Nether with legitimately cast shadows. And if nothing else, that is a killer shopping list for whoever wins one of these RTX-powered laptops.
