Being a Nintendo Switch Online member comes with its perks, much like those subscribed to PlayStation Now. As of August 7th, members will be able to download and play Mario Tennis Aces for absolutely no charge. The trial will last all the way up until August 13th. That’s nearly a week of fun tennis action you can experience if you have a Switch and are an online member.

You don’t want to pass up this trial, either. Mario Tennis Aces is one of the better sports titles currently out for the Switch. There are a ton of fan-favorite characters included in this game, including Mario, Luigi, Wario, Peach, Daisy, and Rosalina just to name a few. There are a total of 15 playable characters, with each one having a unique costume and special attributes. You thus have plenty of time to test out each player’s skills to see which style of play you prefer.

In addition to there being plenty of quirky characters to play with, you’ll have a lot of stages to experience first-hand. They’re well-designed, featuring a lot of colors and fun elements. You truly feel like you’re in the Mario universe, only tennis is featured instead of platforming.

There are plenty of modes to explore. Starting off, Adventure Mode is designed to get you used to the controls all while journeying through the Kingdom of Bask. It seems perfect for players who’ve never played a Mario Tennis game before or those who need a quick refresher on the controls and new features.

The Swing Mode is particularly novel as it lets you turn a Joy-Con controller into an actual tennis racket. It’s a design reminiscent of games featured on the Nintendo Wii. Your motions will be reflected in the game, which is perfect if you’re looking to get active in each tennis match.

The Tournament Mode is perfect if you’re looking to test your mettle against the best to earn noteworthy prizes at the end. Completing a tournament leaves you feeling satisfied. If you’re looking to up the stakes, you can venture into the Online Tournament Mode. Here, you’ll compete against some of the best players across the globe.

It’s great to see Nintendo offer such a fun and popular title for free for a limited time. It should gives those intrigued a chance to test out the controls and see if it’s worth adding to their collection.
