Finally, Nintendo dropped that big announcement that everyone was waiting for- Switch 2 releases soon. That official tweet sent shockwaves through the gaming community, and users are losing their minds across the replies. Some are refreshing shipping pages every single second; some are already bemoaning empty wallet; and a few… well, the excitement is physical (looking at you, Davytoon).
However, that did not set the community in a frenzy. (“IceBerg” went as far as to say Nintendo was creatively bankrupt for going with “Switch 2” when they could have come up with something far glitzy, like “Super Switch”), while Vincouz16 threw some real jabs at the hardware: “Tech from 2014 in 2025, that’s what Nintendo’s offering.” Burn! However, RealMaddox121 shot back and schooled them: “The Wii was far less powerful than the 360 or PS3 but still was the best seller of that generation.”
Complete preorder chaos is running wild already. Joshdachu, among others, is counting down the hours (under 18 for Australia, apparently), while Fbidog is in shipping limbo: “My preorder is still not shipped 😢.” To which GabeLockedOut gives a bitter reality check: “Scalper date btw, it’ll be a while longer for the rest of us.”
But not everybody is sold, though. Outtatime1977 is like “I have a PS5 and a Switch… I’m good,” while CryptoPowder basically went full nuclear: “No thanks. Think I’ll pirate instead.” That is a bold move, Cotton! Meanwhile, Koplopbop The Catsikune dropped the ultimate curveball: “People are more interested in Deltarune than Switch 2.” Okay??
Speaking of which, the real question becomes: What would make this thing sell? Fair enough for ElSlug: “Only thing that will make me buy a Switch is Smash Bros.” But others, like Captain CookieBat, remain wise: “I’m buying, but not at launch. Waiting for the shitstorm to die down.”
The wild cards consider pascaangkasa: “Zero Days hacked Switch 2 on launch day,” while Michael Buckelew injected some existential dread: “We’re all renting units until the hardware fails.”
One thing becomes clear: whether hyped or not, skeptical, or just here for the drama, Nintendo has everyone’s ears. Then again, now we wait… and refresh those UPS tracking pages.
Yeah. Switch 2. Happening. Buckle up.
