The Fortnite generation of kids has gone wild over a highly coveted emote. The new emote-drone collab, DRONE PAPPED!, takes the special effects for Nike skins one or two notches beyond. I repeat-I said special effects. And from that very moment, the internet has exploded, with gamers being hyped beyond belief or utterly confused about what Epic is really trying to cook for us this time.
So what about this emote? The only thing leaked is that when the emote is used with Nike skins, something crazy somehow set in. The details are still mostly unknown-the possibilities remain open-ended. The speculating is that a drone is probably tacking shots of your outfit from the aerial views; hence the term DRONE PAPPED! Some call it a “feet pic emote” (yami, you nailed that); others just question if it should even exist. I mean, who asked for this? But, Fortnite has always been one for the unexpected, has it not?
There is a mixed reaction from the crowd. Some are hyped: “straight fire,” says Ahmad Aziz; others are being sarcastic: “What the fuck is this bullshit nonsense?” Meanwhile, Anandh KS asks the real question: “Who is buying this be fr?” Honestly, a legitimate point.
But beyond this emote, this is just one from a big Nike collab, and since this one emote is already ruffling a lot of feathers, players want to know: will there be customizable Nike skins for all your other favorite ghostly avatars coming next? Flashbenni went there with, “Why can’t we get proper cool ones?” Imagine being able to tweak your kicks mid-game. That’d be insane.
Of course, there’ll always be one mad that their favorite skin isn’t getting love (Renegade, I’m talking to you): “That Shit is ass, where’s Fate!?” Yeah, we get it, some players have priorities. But, let’s be honest here; Fortnite was never about sticking to one thing for too long.
And now, of course, the million-dollar question that’s on everyone’s lips: How much does this really set you back? ElmZ lay it straight: 2800 V-Bucks. Oof. That’s a hell of an expensive emote for some flashy effects. So, for the die-hard Nike fan out there-or the guy who just loves to flex in-game, might be something worth considering.
There are already some good memers out there. Soulbound TV said just now, “Nike said drip check from above only 💅,” and honestly, that sentiment fits right in. Then there’s Ganimedes looking back and watching the whole thing pan out: “Man, they really did not think this all the way through… didn’t they?” Classic.
At the end of the day, whether the emote is good or bad, it will cause some waves once dropped. Fortnite has always been about pushing the boundaries, and here’s another example of how utterly crazy this game can get. So stay tuned, because you know Epic has tons more surprises. It might be the next big emote or the one that flops harder than a default skin in a sweating lobby. Time will tell.
One thing’s for sure though-Wild was always alive, and that is exactly why we keep coming back.
