The NBA 2K forums started working overtime when the official NBA 2K Twitter account uploaded a teaser video asking gamers to predict who got to take the crown should the Finals become a clash of Oklahoma City Thunder versus Indiana Pacers. While some would give a positive response jumping on the hype train, many took the opportunity to air their views regarding the game’s contentious locker codes and gameplay.

The league of picture-gatherers posted-goodbye predictions with complaints; the picture showed the two teams with the words “Two teams ready to battle for their city’s first NBA Championship 🏆 OKC or IND in _______ ?”. The replies ranged from passionate team supporters bickering “OKC in 5” to “Pacers in 6!”, all the way to just enraged players screaming out 2K’s recent sins.

The biggest of all complaints: the infamous “100 OVR Jason Tatum” locker code! Numerous players pointed out that the recent highest-rated player drops have been packed with this Celtics star, one user exploded with, “ALL OF THEM JASON TATUM ! WHAT THE FCK!?!? Are you trying to tell me that this game isn’t rigged?” Numerous others continued their tantrum by claiming, “Every time we get a code I get a duplicate every damn time”.

Then come all the gameplay complaints. One angry player goes: “Fix this game why when I’m having a good game suddenly I can’t make shots every pass is a turnover?” Another: “Remove the fucking AI players and just give me the win if my opponent leaves.”

Not everyone was disappointed. Some were asking questions, like when another locker code drop was in store for him (“Where is locker code nigga”). And then the debate of who would win the fictional Thunder-Pacers series generated: as loud as “Thunder in 3” and “Pacers in 7! Bookmark it💅🏾”. One player feels a bit comfortable making fun: “2k Developers in nothing”-ouch.

So, are you thinking about the NBA 2K25 reality? Well, it appears that the whole game community is divided between the die-hard bastards who still are holding on (“gonna play til the servers are dead”) and those completely pissed off at greed practices.

One wonders if 2K executives might ever do anything about all this. At the very least, the hypothetical Thunder-Pacers debate is providing gamers with something to talk about other than broken mechanics.

So what if you’d ever pondered who actually wins this matchup. Judging from the responses, it seems OKC has a slight edge-but don’t tell any of those Pacers fans.
