NBA 2K MyTEAM Draft Festival received an avalanche of content as usual. And, as it’s customary, the community had mixed reactions to it. The event kicked in with a brand new Locker Code, dropping the GOAT-tier NBA Draft Festival Event Card, with players grinding for wins to get usual rewards like legendary #1 picks Paolo Banchero and Hakeem Olajuwon. For some, it’s a happy time, but for the others, let’s just say…tricky vibes.
And now for the memorable moments of glory: Draft Festival is about stacking wins in MyTEAM in order to earn event cards, which can then be exchanged for or traded for even greater rewards. Free Locker Codes will allow anyone to try for high-tier event cards right away; with the right preparation and a lot of grinding, the rare ones are essentially what every player is dreaming of in their teams. @Titanium7Jb, in fact, came out of that exchange pack with a 100 overall Victor Wembanyama and called it a “W” in return. Meanwhile, @sharkinfestme was just happy to get some sort of halfway decent card, calling it the “worst GOAT” ever.
But now for all the negative stuff. Literally, a lot of people are furious. The biggest rant would be about odds. Clammy, really horrendous ones. Aidenzzz, @7o2_Aidenzzz put it excellently, “ts is not real… can’t even pack a dark matter.” Others like Hernandez @HaydenK69935 wasted a 10-pack bundle for “ass ass and even more ass.” And what about Kayden @KaydenDropEmoff? Had completely the worst luck: five duplicates of Michael Olowokandi and three of Pelvis Ellison. That just sounds…rough.
Then we have: “What is going on here?” Some individuals like Liam @LiamWemyss3 or Carlos @Carlos904Duval just had no clue about how to use the Locker Code and where to even put it. Others like Devonte @Devonte13413173 say they got NOTHING after claiming it, while there are also some who simply despise event cards: bkh74 said they were “suck ass,” while Jumpboy69 said these are “the worst 2KMyTEAM locker codes ever.” Oof.
Others are not mad about it. @jjhnpL_ told how grinding through some challenges nets solid Event Cards and pulled an Invincible-level card from an 18K MT pack. So maybe, there’s some hope? Or maybe… just a lucky break. Anyway, with Draft Festival in full effect, love it or hate it-the grind is serious.
One could argue that it is a fault: NBA 2K’s MyTEAM keeps being an emotional roller coaster. Some players are walking away with Wembys and GOATs, others are stuck with a bucket of duplicate Kwame Browns. Get in if you dare-the odds might just be with you. Or, well, working against you.
