Just recently, Naughty Dog has released Patch 1.2 for The Last of Us Part II Remastered, aimed specifically at the PC platform. The players are now in a mood to fix some things. Fixes are sweeping in for the despised bugs, like the NVIDIA DLSS Frame Generation failure and the absence of No Return Challenge weapon skins. Oh, and a few other little bugs were taken care of ’cause, you know, nothing breaks immersion in a post-apocalyptic world like some glitches!
Via Twitter, the studio also shared a link to the full patch notes for the truth seekers who like to pep and ponder every excruciating detail. And who wouldn’t? If you are the kind of person who would pore over all the lines of patch notes as if it were some treasure map, you can find it here.
This one really is for the fans of No Return mode, who are having a blast with it-these were sore spots for completionists, so it was a big deal to see these.
Interestingly enough, the tweet doesn’t really seem to inspire too many replies-perhaps everyone is busy downloading and testing the update instead? Or, maybe, good old PC players are of the ‘just get out of my way’ breed, while they slurp down energy drinks.
Yet, claiming silence would make this patch just another minor one would be incorrect. Some troubles with DLSS Frame Generation were certainly gnawing at the players, especially those who are running extremely high-end rigs expecting buttery smooth performance. Now? Consider it cruising time-or at least smoother than before.
Another recent action that shows Naughty Dog’s support for The Last of Us Part II Remastered for PC-and a good thing, as the studio has been busy fixing the title since launch, a sign in itself. No one likes an abandoned game after release and Naughty Dog knows it. After all, it’s their good name on the line.
So, if you had been putting off going back to Ellie to kill some time with a vengeance because of the technical issues, now might just be a good moment. Fire in up and find out if it misses; let chaos reign.
And hey, if you find anything else they missed? Well, we know Naughty Dog is probably already scheming for whenever that next patch will be. These guys just keep rolling-always patching and never stopping.
