Monster Hunter fans who were fed up with turning themselves into an all-smash-all-rave-light show had some really blessed news from Capcom. With the arrival of the Free Title Update 2, monster hunters can finally turn off the glow on hunters not only in the Grand Hub but everywhere. Does that sound like something you want to hear? There will be no faint neon glows in the middle of a serene Rathalos hunt!
The announcement was broadcasted by the Official Monster Hunter Twitter account itself, and players went crazy with reactions. Some were extremely thankful, like DeadBeat Dan who said, “Thank you! Finally!,” while others such as djsandbox dropped a well-known truth: “This should’ve been an option from the start, lmao.” Can’t argue with that.
Of course, it would have been weird if the comment section contained only cheers as many took these moments to discuss their separate grievances: Mik3Delan3y wanted “Remove the Hard Aim Assist While Mounting Palamute”; AshCrow_ wished, “Please, I wanna disable this vignette effect on console”; and finally, DLG_Felix demanded subtitles for the Diva’s songs. Priorities, people.
One of the greatest responses came from Ethan626794543: “Thank you so much, honestly I was getting tired of being ketchup red and mustard yellow all the time.” Mood. The entire community feels that way today, as do many who have celebrated with another famous phrase: “FINALLY. Thank you for listening 😔 – Ramez05.
What about the big question now: when does it arrive? Some players, again starting with DeadBeat Dan, speculate that we may even get a trailer at next week’s Summer Games Fest. Others, including Josh the Animator, just went ahead and asked, “When is it coming out?” Still, no official date. Hopefully, soon.
While we’re at it, can we just talk about the utter weirdness of never having that as an option in the first place?? Monster Hunter has always been about customization-layered armor, weapon skins, you name it—but somehow glowing like a glow stick in a nightclub slipped by. Better late than never at least.
So yeah, if you were to stay away from some skills or items due to one clear reason—their effects make you feel like a human disco ball—relief is on the horizon. It’s just a matter of Capcom turning around 50 other issues screaming at players. A few stand a chance.
Happy hunting for now, and may Fashion finally catch up to skills in combat.
