In the recently-released digital version, away from the common brick buster-stone block experience, you can finally own the adventurious blocky craze. There was an in-between sort of reaction. Some were ecstatic; others downright awful; and middling was out of question.
Mojang had tweeted about the digital release, showing this weird scenario of chaos created by chicken jockeys, but can you even imagine the replies? Some congratulated, others roasted, and the bulk were talking about piracy, of course. Internet, I tell you!
The positives: A few really happy fans. One user, Enot2012x, said simply: “I like it 😀.” Carnage was bittersweet about it, jokingly: “At least I won’t hear my friends or family scream ‘CHICKEN JOCKEY!’ and then destroy my entire house and flood it with popcorn and soda 💀.” Quite a valid point there.
Others are, well…somewhat disappointed at the price of $25. AntoIsDaGoat: “We ain’t paying 25$ for ts gng 💔🥀.” There were a few others expressing the same concern. Some even mentioned piracy as an option: “I already pirated it,” confessed Sillybilly2099. “I’ll just pirate it as per usual,” stated MuffTuglick. Ouch.
And then there’s the meme factor. Some fans already argue the fame of the movie is an entirely ironic construct. TheFamousSonic stated, “Cause it’s so hilariously bad and people only like it for memes.” Bacon_patriot1, on the contrary, points out the weird turnaround: “Went from the most hated movie to the most love🤔🤔🤔🤔.”
And an unfinished Minecraft conversation would be incomplete without a Herobrine query. Carissa threw in the classic: “Did you remove Herobrine????” Never change, internet.
So what is this all about? Minecraft Movie has come out, soak-your-feet-in-all-the-debate, and the crowds are actually buying it or waiting for a discount or sailing in the uncharted skies of piracy. Would it turn out as a cult classic? The infamous “so bad it’s good” type? Or just disappear into thin air? Only time will tell, and hopefully, there will be a discount by then.
Meanwhile, if you do have endless curiosity and a big stack of cash, you can grab the digital copy. Or, y’know, go the other way. Not that I’m endorsing it; the internet is quite a jungle.
And if you hit that play button… then popping some popcorn at home is a must. Just saying.
