Hold your horses. Minecraft has actually gone ahead into the life of cinemas and merchandise? Well, you heard right! The very new exciting thing from the official Amazon Minecraft Store is the latest by releasing incredible things, including the cool Chicken Jockey set of the upcoming Minecraft movie. And who would not want to sport a blocky chicken on a backpack like a pixelated cowboy?!
This tweet from the Minecraft team dropped a link like a creeper explosion in lieu of an official trailer just to showcase here the Chicken Jockey merch among some other goodies.
There is no movie trailer, at least not yet. The store was bursting with everything from hoodies to plushies, and it seems that Mojang decided that we deserved a little less weight in our wallets but gave us a lot of hype.
Now here is the suspicious part-no replies. Crickets. Not a single “OMG NEED” or “Why does this chicken look judgy?” One reason might actually be that everyone is busy shopping and can’t be bothered to type. Maybe the Internet is still digesting the fact that chicken riding a zombie is now high fashion with a doubt in its mind. In any case, the kind of silence that is… suspicious.
The merch itself? Peak Minecraft-chaos. The Chicken Jockey design, as you’d expect, is as ridiculous as possible-a dumb chicken on a zombie’s back heading into the sunset.
On t-shirts, on hats, almost probably on socks if you dig deep enough. And if you are thinking, “Wait, why would I wear this?” then congratulations, you must be older than 25. The rest of us are already slaying it as extras in a Sanderson sibling fanfic.
There is currently no information regarding the actual release date of the movie (C’mon, Hollywood; we can be patient but not that patient), but yes, the merch train is steaming ahead.
One piece of advice; if at all you would intend to buy something on your own, do not wear the Chicken Jockey hoodie unto the interview. Unless your boss is aged 9, of course, in which case, promotion unlocked.
So yes. Minecraft is out here making merch out of meme culture, and honestly? We’re here for it. Excuse us now; we have a water bottle that is chicken-themed, and it’s apparently ours. Minecraft is making waves, and we’re loving every bit of it.
