Ever asked yourself whether you could game on your PlayStation quietly without friends sending notifications blasting your console all the time? I guess everybody has been in that situation. Grinding through levels alone or just not that into it-whatever the case may be, Sony has the remedy for that.

In fact, the official PlayStation Twitter would have you believe that there is a small slice of wisdom for gamers wishing to play in maximum stealth mode. Apparently, you can modify your settings for your online status so that your buddies get no DMs saying: “Hey, why you ignoring me?” Oh, and the tweet actually has a link to how-does-that-work, mostly handy if you had to explain to your friends for the 10th time why you cannot join.

Easy. Go to your profile and change the online status to either “Offline” or “Appear Offline.” And that’s it, you are invisible. Your friends think you are away from your controller when, in fact, you are busy doing your thing with Kratos, or swinging around New York as Spider-Man. No awkward excuses, really.

Response to the tweet was quite sparse; I mean, it is quite basic. Still, it would not be surprising if many fans used it. Some players apparently would not play unless they had this functionality; others just want to play in peace, liberated from social pressure. Either way, total victory for introverts and grinders alike.

This is, ironically, not even new as such has been available with PlayStation for ages, but it needs to be reminded since many such newly minted PS5 owners are now jumping in. Really, come on; after a long day, sometimes, you want to game without your hundred friends knowing about it. Definitely no shame.

So in case you ever need to gank it up next time (or just super wrapped up in a solo adventure), flip that status. Your friends are not going to know; you will, however, have to explain why you’ve been “busy” for the fifth night in a row. Stealth away, guys. And if you are one of those people who throw tantrums when their friends go offline-relax. They’ll be back…eventually.
