Metro Redux is a two-game pack consisting of Metro 2033 and Metro: Last Light.

The official game summary states: “The year is 2033. An entire generation has been born and raised underground, and their besieged Metro Station-Cities struggle for survival, with each other, and the mutant horrors that await outside. You are Artyom, born in the last days before the fire, but raised underground. Having never ventured beyond the city limits, one fateful event sparks a desperate mission to the heart of the Metro system, to warn the remnants of mankind of a terrible impending threat.”

The Metro series, which is inspired by the novel series by Dmitry Glukhovsky, covers Artyom’s journeys through the metro and the people he meets along the way.

The double game collection contains both games and all previously released DLC. The content is all housed on a 16 GB cartridge.

The Metro Redux bundle has made a few changes. There are two new modes: “Spartan” mode is a survival horror-style experience while “Survival” is a higher difficulty.

4A Games has announced a special physical edition called The Ranger Cache. The limited-edition contains a Metro Redux pin badge set, game case sleeve, double-sided alternate artwork inlay, 4 double-sided art cards, and A2 double-sided poster. The Ranger Cache does not include any additional DLC or cosmetic content new to the game.

The first two games take place before the events of the most recent release, Metro Exodus, which is currently available on consoles and is currently an Epic Game Store exclusive.

There were weeks of speculation before the official announcement was made. The official PEGI rating was spotted before the end of 2019. The official ESRB rating has also appeared, which is Mature 17+ for violence, adult content, language, and use of drugs.

Around a week later, product listings for the Nintendo Switch port began appearing on various Russian retailer websites.

Now, 4A Games has made the listing official. Preorders for the physical edition are available now.
