Konami offered a massive 50% discount for METAL GEAR SOLID: Master Collection Vol.1 across all platforms, and gamers started to lose their minds! Well, almost. The pre-launch celebrations of METAL GEAR SOLID Δ have unnerved an outburst of demands, memes, and just pure chaos in the reply section.
The actual deal: Steam, PlayStation, Nintendo, and Xbox owners are allowed to keep the Master Collection Vol.I on sale for more than half off. This means MGS1, MGS2, and MGS3 plus some nice recall bonuses proudly sitting on the shelves, waiting to be grabbed at a tall discount. But while some are so very hyped, others are still searching for bigger discounts-the third one, @tomthenekoo, simply goes, “80% off ill get it.” Ouch.
But here’s the real tea: The sale is not even the whole discussion. A burning question fills every reply: WHERE IS VOLUME 2?! Players want MGS4, Peace Walker, and even Phantom Pain remastered. @Elwood540 went fully wishlist with suggesting Vol.2 contain “cut content that was supposed to be in the game.” Whereas @Indrasznn took a snarky approach and said “Port MGS4 or we boycott.”
The Switch 2 hype is not to be taken lightly. Lots of users like @CrissCross87 and @SnakeEater_MCOC are basically begging for performance patches so these classics run smoother on Nintendo’s supposed next-gen hardware. Because to force playing MGS3 at 30fps in 2024 just feels like a war crime.
Then comes the drama with Kojima. @leoyasser92 downright told Konami to “reach out to kojima, but your egos aside, and work together on mgs 6,” very bold! @nicolo_giusti crushed that statement with “A HIDEO KOJIMA GAME.”
Some folks are still very salty about the technical issues of Master Collection. @LousTV_ said MGS1 is “directly emulated from the PS1, no HD texture upgrades,” with MGS2 and MGS3 bringing their weird stuff to the table-So yeah, maybe for these purists even half-off ain’t gonna do it.
And then comes hype for Delta all over again: @ZEKESNAKE93 haven’t replayed classics yet because of the PS5 MGS4 catalog, which, with an honest heart, might never come. Meanwhile, @Don_of_PSX is barking at Konami for all the Delta Collector’s Editions being scooped by bots.
So what’s the verdict? If you have been waiting to return to Snake’s early exploits, maybe it is time to get the Master Collection now. But if you’re holding for Vol.2 or pleading for a Switch 2 patch… well, continue waiting. And maybe throw in a few more tweets at Konami. They feed off that.
One thing for sure: metal gear fans have always been the most passionate and demanding. Whether they’re begging for remasters or roasting Konami’s decisions, this community will not go silent anytime soon. And honestly, I know we don’t want that.
