Luigi’s Mansion 3 surprised everyone at E3 this year by bringing back one of the fans’ favorite characters dressed in green. The brother to Mario will once again be chasing away ghosts in another whacky adventure, but this time he is not alone. As was seen at E3, he has a goo doppelganger that is helping, and in some ways, hindering his success at removing the ghosts.

Armed with a new set of tools and a will to run away from everything Luigi is at it again but this time, in a hotel. There were some great demos and amazing clips shown at E3, but new surprises have arrived with an entirely new floor being revealed at Gamescom.

For those who do not know Luigi’s new kit of gear includes a suction cup shooter and burst along with a powerful slam move. Professor E. Gadd’s latest invention, Gooigi, is also helping as he is able to slip through tight spaces, walk on spikes, and help Luigi overcome anything that gets in his way. This time at least, Luigi is not alone.

Using the Switch’s capabilities for multiplayer play, you can easily change between Luigi and Gooigi at any time or split off a controller and have a friend join in on the fun. You must explore the entirety of Last Resort ascending through several themed floors full of haunting enemies and wacky contraptions.

In almost a move to bring a party game feel to the entire experience, there is an extra mode being bundled into the game. Up to 8 players can race the timer and clear objectives to try and get through the entire building of the ScareScraper.

The video above shows the entirety of what has been revealed at Gamescom this year. You can easily see Luigi wielding his Poltergust G-00 to slam and blow ghosts away as well as summon Gooigi.

It is up to you to help save all of your friends and travel through the many floors of the hotel Last Resort. What you might think is a bad dream is a reality as the quest was given by King Boo himself. So be brave and guide Luigi to victory and well-earned vacation.
