For all the horror buffs out there, a death announcement was just rolled out by Bandai Namco, with Little Nightmares III scheduled for release on 10 October 2025, promising a new level called Carnevale. The news, coupled with a terrifying trailer, already lit a fuse with the horror community. Just for clarity-there is screaming, but apart from pillows, gamers are screaming!

So…what exactly is Carnevale? Well, if the name didn’t provide a clue, it’s carnival-from-hell with spooky clowns, eerie music, and perhaps thousands of little things that will make you question why you ever liked carnivals in the first place. The trailer and atmosphere borrow flickers of vivid lighting, frightful figures, and thick atmospherics of dread. This much terror-just grab one rusty carnival ticket stub!

The entire player base reacted in split seconds at notice of the news. Some players have already started hyping up their playthrough: “Got Little Nightmares 1 and 2 on PS Plus free games, I’ll wait for the 3rd to come along and join the party,” states @GuyThat92. Meanwhile, @IceTigerZone is marking the calendar: “This is going to be my Halloween game! I’m so happy!” Honestly, I mean, hell yes. To me, nothing screams spooky season quite like existential horror in a clown-infested nightmare land.

Others are not convinced: “I wasn’t convinced at all by the earlier trailers because they failed to capture the eerie magic of the first two games,” said @NoelDLosSimpson. “But this new level??? I wanna believe!!!” Fair enough. Those first two games were a pretty high benchmark when it came to suffocating atmosphere and haunting storytelling. If Carnevale nails it, we’re looking at another horror masterpiece.

Ranked among the big questions is: is it going to be co-op only? @a9eelo_sb asked straight: “Only co-op?” To which @fbgandrea had a classic answer: “They are releasing both solo and co-op versions.” Good news for solo players wanting to confront their nightmares without having to back anybody up.

Then there is @ratatapa87, who stays salty about trophies: “Give us the platinum 🏆 for Little Nightmares for those of us that have all the trophies.” Well, Bandai Namco, the people have spoken. Return the gleaming digital accolades to us!

But other parties remain indifferent. One hit from @oldschoolvirgo, “lol can we stop w this goofy ah game,” while @CQ861429750 commented: “Sounds like a real carnival of horrors. I’m more of a rollercoaster girl.” Valid. Some of us want our scares with loops and drops, not existential dread.

The announcement of the release date also sparked some debates on console loyalty because it had to. The shadow was thrown by @inunohoshi16g: “PlayStation has no games,” to which @KeybladeScar retorted: “You haven’t met Xbox have you? đź’€” And so the eternal war goes on. Can’t we all just agree that horror games are best played in the dark, regardless of platform?

With October 10 set in stone, players have enough time to prepare themselves mentally. Or maybe buy nightlights. That way, Little Nightmares III is almost guaranteed to be another unforgettable experience, and we are here for it every step of the way. Now, if you will excuse me, we’re going to watch that trailer on a loop while contemplating life choices.
