Oh boy! The week just keeps on getting better and better for the big fans out there who have been waiting all these years for the next drop of the ultimate of all video games, the creme de la creme of first-person shooters. That is right, folks, we are talking about the amazing series video game Half-Life, which was first created by the infamous Gabe Newell.

If you know anything about the power of Gabe Newell, you know it is a little bit like Dr. Dre. You do not wait for it. It waits for you. And this is why we have been waiting so long for the latest release of Half-Life from the folks over at Valve. It has been gestating all of this time, and it is almost ready for us. Prepare, friends. Prepare. In a recent post on Reddit, the most powerful site on the internet, the Valve team gave us a heads up.

Turns out, the latest beauty–the powerhouse known as Half-Life: Alyx–will be coming out on time.

These developers were willing to tell us that they were feeling very confident that the game would be coming out when it was expected to come out. And if you know anything about Valve, their word is worth its weight in gold.

And when I say gold, I do not mean the paltry gold system you might find in your favorite Dragon Quest-type of game, I mean real gold. It is the kind of stuff you can take home and put in your piggy-bank if you feel so inclined. So get it ready, fans. Anyway, they also told us that the game was created with VR in mind. That means you can jam it straight into your headsets and live within the game if you really need it to happen the way you need it to.

In other news, the developers wanted the fans to know that “Lots of us at Valve, as well as playtesters, have played through the entire game multiple times.” This is some solid news, and it was what we were all expected from this legendary team and everything they are expecting to do with their lives.

They continued: “Right now we’re primarily polishing and fixing bugs, which is where we’d hope to be at this point in the development cycle. We’re confident we’ll hit our intended release.” Absolutely incredible. If you know anything about first-person shooters, then you know this is going to be the real one. Good luck.
