While the reception to the new Gunfight mode in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare has been mostly positive, the biggest criticism of the 2v2 mode has been centered around its length, as some are finding themselves spending more time on loading screens than in the actual game.

The Gunfight mode in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is a 2v2 team-based experience where players get only one life. As you’d expect, rounds for this mode are extremely short, which is the only complaint about Infinity Ward’s newest feature.

Following the free-to-play 2v2 alpha, Infinity Ward’s Joe Cecot responded to the complaints about the Gunfight mode, and luckily, it seems like the developers are open to the idea of adding respawns to ensure that players aren’t spending more time on loading screens than they are playing the game.

When asked on Reddit about respawns being added to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare’s 2v2 mode, Cecot said: “We have some things.” Of course, the answer that he gave is quite vague, but at least it tells fans that the devs are listening to their complaints.

Aside from the length of the mode, most have enjoyed playing the Gunfight mode, and some think that it could be the new, hot thing, much like the Battle Royale mode was/is.

Speaking of a Battle Royale mode, rumor has it that Infinity Ward will add one to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare after the game launches on October 25. On top of that, the game will receive the most amount of post-launch content in franchise history. As of this writing, Activision hasn’t confirmed what their post-launch content for CoD: MW will be, nor have they revealed a time window for the post-launch DLC.

While it won’t launch with a traditional Battle Royale mode, it will launch with a Ground War mode that will support up to 100 players. So, if you’re looking for a game mode that’s similar to BR, then Call of Duty: Modern Warfare’s Ground War mode will probably be right up your alley.

In recent weeks, Infinity Ward has revealed a ton about the multiplayer in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, however, they still haven’t gone into great detail about the game’s single-player campaign, nor have they revealed anything about the Spec Ops mode. So, you should expect to see more on those two things in the coming weeks as IW and Activision begin to gear-up for the launch of what could be the most significant CoD game in quite some time.
