Hideo Kojima is well-known for his work on the Metal Gear series and, most recently, Death Stranding. \n \nThe 2019 award season has earned him several awards for his most recently released game, Death Stranding. Kojima will receive yet another prestigious accolade this April at BAFTA. \n \n \n \nBAFTA announced they would be presenting Kojima with the Fellowship at the BAFTA Game Awards this April. The accolade is in commemoration of his creative contributions to the game industry. \n \nThe Fellowship is the highest accolade that one can receive from the BAFTA. It includes work in film, games, or tv. \n \nPrevious Fellowships were presented to Gabe Newell, Peter Molyneux, Vanessa Redgrave, Shigeru Miyamoto, and Will Wright. \n \nRegarding the award, Hideo Kojima said: "Thank you very much for this precious BAFTA Fellowship award. I am very honored, and would like to take this moment to reflect on the many predecessors that came before me, as I deeply respect their contributions to entertainment, whether in movies, television, or games. I would also like to thank those who have supported me over the years and I will continue my commitment to creating new and innovative ways that will push the world of ‘play’ entertainment forward." \n \nKojima has previously been nominated for seven BAFTA Games Awards. Previously, BAFTA held a special showcase event ahead of the release of Death Stranding. The event welcomed several notable people within the game industry. \n \nThe announcement of the nominees for the BAFTA Game Awards will be announced tomorrow on Tuesday, March 3. \n \nThe British Academy of Film and Television Arts, known as the BAFTA, is an annual award show hosted by the British Academy of Film and Television Arts. The ceremony honors British and international contributions to film. \n \nThe Game Awards specifically honors "outstanding creative achievement" in the video game industry. \n \nIn 2019, God of War was awarded several achievements. The game was award the Best Game, Best Music, Best Narrative, and Audio Achievement. Jeremy Davis, who portrayed The Stranger in God of War, won the Best Performer award. Forza Horizon 4 took home the best British Game Award. \n \nThe BAFTA Games Awards is part of the London Games Festival, which takes place later this month from March 26 to April 6. \n \nThe BAFTA Game Awards will be held on Thursday, April 2, 2020.
