With the help of a vast open environment, Elden Ring expertly adapts the well-known gameplay and challenge of the Souls series. Departing from the more basic gameplay components, Elden Ring gives players more freedom to explore and find prizes that can help them through challenging parts. However, this does not mean that every aspect is different.

Deathroot is a significant item in Elden Ring that calls to mind earlier Souls titles. Similar to Covenants, where players offer particular objects in exchange for incentives, this rare item works similarly.

One must be obtained first in order for a questline connected to the Key Item to proceed; the NPC who requires players to hand over Deathroot may be found there.

Deathroot is commonly found by various catacombs’ ends or as a drop from Tibia Mariner world monsters by adventurers exploring the Lands Between.

Although it isn’t stated clearly in the game, these objects are significant since they can be “sold” for a variety of potent prizes.

Usually, players find their first two Deathroots in a chest at the end of the Deathtouched Catacombs or in Summonwater Village after defeating the Tibia Mariner. North Limgrave’s Deathtouched Catacombs are west of the Saintbridge, while Summonwater Village is only a short journey to the east of the Saintbridge.

Tibia Mariners scatter three more Deathroot in the Wyndham Ruins, north of the Liurnia Highway Grace, and on a rock close to Castle Sol.

After defeating the antagonists of the Giant’s Mountaintop Catacombs, Black Knife Catacombs, Gelmir Hero’s Grave, and the Mysterious Way to the Haligtree, you can find the final four in chests.

The Beast Clergyman, Gurranq, is a creature that players can give Deathroot to. This NPC may be found at the Bestial Sanctum in the Dragonbarrow’s northeastern region.

You can reach this area by chatting with D, Hunter of the Dead, an NPC at Roundtable Hold. Prior to the Tibia Mariner boss, you can also find him outside Summonwater Village.
