Later this year, on September 13, unless you're hoping to play the game on Steam, then you'll have to wait an additional six months after the console release date, Borderlands 3 will finally be released on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. So, developer Gearbox is clearly in the closing stages of the game's development. \n \nObviously one of the biggest questions surrounding the next Borderlands title is the length of its main campaign mode, which according to the game's creative director, will be less than 40 hours long without including the non-essential side missions. \nThere’s so much to the game. We go to these different worlds. The length of the game being 35 hours, if you just go through the main story," said Paul Sage, who is the creative director for Gearbox. "That’s not including doing too many side missions. I think there was a lot of ambition right at the beginning." \nAll three of the previously released Borderlands titles -- 1, 2, and the Pre Sequel -- all have main stories that take between 30 or 40 hours to complete, not including side missions. So, Borderlands 3 is pretty much right in line with its predecessors in terms of length. \n \nhttps:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=Q-o3cuQo5as \n \nAs one would expect, the next installment of the Borderlands franchise will feature more loot and guns than ever before, so it's clearly Gearbox's most ambitious project. Whether or not it'll live up to the hype when it's released this coming September remains to be seen, however, the trailers do suggest that Borderlands 3 will, at the very least, be just as good as the previous three games in the series. \n \nIf you're someone who can't wait for new Borderlands content, then there's some good news for you, as there's currently a free to play DLC for The Handsome Collection. In the expansion, it'll help bridge the gap between the events of the second game and the upcoming third installment. \n \nThe expansion for Borderlands: The Handsome Collection is called Commander Lilith & The Fight for Sanctuary and in it, players will defend Sanctuary, which is currently under siege. Moreover, the map to the Vault has been stolen, and toxic gas is poisoning Pandora. The expansion will feature new boss fights, new zones, new loot and a new loot tier which is being called "beyond legendary." \n \nEssentially the goal is to join up with Lilith and the Crimson Raiders to help defeat a brand new villain who, much like other villains in the series, wants to control everything on Pandora.
