Samsung has not been left behind at the ongoing Gamescom 2019 in Cologne Germany. The South Korean manufacturer launched the Samsung CRG5 gaming monitor. It is ideal for gamers looking for a curved monitor with blistering 240Hz refresh rate for the best, immersive gaming.

“Great gaming PCs deserve fantastic monitors and Samsung’s first NVIDIA G-SYNC Compatible monitor, the C27RG5 means a smooth, tear-free, and stunning gaming experience for users with GeForce GTX 10-Series, GeForce GTX 16-Series, and GeForce RTX 20-Series graphics cards,” said Vijay Sharma, NVIDIA G-SYNC’s Product Management Leader.

One of the problems Samsung solves with the CRG5 is screen tearing, stuttering, and delayed action, especially when playing the GPU hungry titles. That’s the reason Samsung finally boarded the NVIDIA G-SYNC bandwagon – the CRG5 is Samsung’s first G-SYNC monitor. Together with NVIDIA, Samsung has synchronized the CRG5 with the GPU for seamless gameplay during those adrenaline-filled moments and fast action scenes.

The Samsung C27RG5 is based on a 27-inch VA (vertical alignment) 1500R curved panel dubbed RapidCurve Technology. It is notably, the world’s first 240Hz curved gaming monitor. The impressive 3000:1 contrast ratio ensures enemies are visible even in the dark. Simply, it guarantees darker blacks and brighter whites. The resolution is 1920 x 1080 for Full HD gaming while the response time is 4ms.

One of the unique features dedicated to gamers is the Game Mode. This is an optional setting that automatically adjusts black gamma levels, sharpness, color, and contrast depending on the title you are playing and the different environments. There’s also the Virtual Aim function that enhances accuracy when playing first-person games. The Low-Input Lag Mode and Eye Saver Mode reduce delay and blue light, respectively. On the other hand, there’s Flicker-Free technology which eliminates the flickers, reducing eye strains.

When it comes to connectivity, Samsung included two HDMI 2.0 ports and one DisplayPort 1.2. There’s also a standard 3.5mm audio out jack. The CRG5 is also VESA mount compatible (75×75mm). Other features include a sleek bezel-less design that offers more screen space and a sturdy Y-stand.

Unveiled during E3 2019, the Samsung CRG5 is available for purchase at many Samsung retailers and resellers. Already, it has been listed on Amazon though shipping starts on August 23. With a $400 price tag, the CRG5 is quite a deal for a 240Hz curved monitor from one of the best brands. Regarding the warranty, it should tag along with the standard Samsung three-year warranty.

At Gamescom 2019, Samsung also released the SR75Q Space Gaming Monitor and Super Ultra-wide CRG9. This is in a bid to assert itself in the unexploited big-screen gaming industry.
