Oy, Fortnite players: a Tsuki (Gothic) reappearance in the item shop seems to have faded into forever, and the Football skin remains missing for well over two years. This big bang originated from HYPEX, a well-known Fortnite leaker and a content creator, through Twitter, and boy, the crowd has gone cray-cray.
The tweet included a link to grab the skins, alongside a polite–dare I say cheeky?–request to use the code “HYPEX” at checkout. The comments remain a mixture of hype, the highest levels of confusion you might imagine, and typical Fortnite communal drama.
First up, Tsuki. That skin is somewhat of a classic now, especially from the Gothic standpoint. Some players laid it to rest in great disdain, calling it a wasted opportunity because it reused Rio’s face model instead of doing something else. Others? They have waited forever for this. A player named FloroJoestar joked about having to wait until “Golden Week” to cop Tsuki. Struggles are very real.
Then came the Football Skin, which sparked an all-out debate in the replies. Some were arguing about whether it should have been called soccer or football because BLACKsafy went through with a full-on historical explanation that soccer was, in fact, slang for Association Football during the 19th century in England. Meanwhile, indacastroo dropped this bombshell: ‘You use your feet to kick the ball, football 🤯.’ Can’t disagree with logic like that.
But there were a bunch of those who would not even celebrate. Some players like guccione_ape considered the skins “horrible” and vowed not to buy them. Ironhaide1 was experiencing a growing resentment for still having no Street Fighter skins (again), while Lynxd187lol begged for the FNCS Champion 1.0 pickaxe comeback. The pain is real when your favorite cosmetic just won’t come back.
Technical difficulties hit next. ScopeGhozt asked if anyone else was loading into matches as the default skin (yikes), while kristia61515600 was thoroughly devastated as the Lava Legends pack just lapsed from their shop just before they could buy it. Fortnite’s item shop giveth; Fortnite’s item shop taketh away.
And of course, no Fortnite Twitter chain is complete without some kind of free skin request. onlywithangel_ just outright begged to be gifted this Batman Who Laughs skin. Nice try.
So what’s the verdict? Tsuki (Gothic) and Football skins, finally! How long they shall remain, who knows?
