This latest leak was for the Spirit Portal Live Event Stage that was out there causing everybody to stay awake for another online show. The image that was initially shared by @FN_Assist, seconded by a repost from @ShiinaBR, almost immediately set the community on fire, with fans speculating what it means for the impending event.
What about the portal? Apparently, Fortnite is making some maneuvers toward something major, perhaps in relation to the alleged Death Star Sabotage event that is slated for June 7 at 2PM ET. Even the official Fortnite account cheekily reminded the players to mark the date on their calendars, and to make sure the mobile version is downloaded ahead of time so they can skip those long queues! In other words, in typical Fortnite style, keeping us on our toes.
Of course, with every leak comes a stream of student. Some were hyped about it, saying “this portal is dope” and “dope”; others were ready to start yet another round of questioning: “Is this just recycled content?” “Watch it have nothing to do with the event,” and that, indeed, would not be the very first time that Epic decided to throw in a curveball.
For those, though, on the Street Fighter side, the question remains: “When are they going to do the big return with Ryu and Chun-Li?” “When is Street Fighter returning, leaker boy?” barked one player, conveying that not every eye is on the portal. Another would trade his soul and half of Canada for an OG Season 4 teaser; nostalgia really is quite a drug.
But then again, what actually does this portal do? Is it just a visual wall tease or will it be one of the main focal points of the forthcoming show? Some have tied it with Death Star Sabotage, whilst others are strongly convinced it’s something way bigger—for example, kick-starting a Demon Daigo storyline for next season. (Yes, somebody actually said that.)
Enter the inevitable “Fortnite needs fresh ideas” comment, because not a single gaming conversation ever goes by without someone pointing this out. However, really, where would Fortnite be without all that grumbling?
Soonly, the event will be live, and players have already begun considering how to grab seats amid live server chaos. One thing these events have shown us is that logging in at the last minute is a guarantee for disaster.
So, whether you came for the lore, for the show, or just to watch the community spawning wild theories, one thing is for sure: Fortnite is going full speed. It’s time to prepare for another unforgettable moment dearly etched in the tapestry of this ever-evolving game storyline on June 7.
Still in denial? At least consider that grass in Fortnite looks better than real grass. (That was said truly.)
