Epic Games seems to forever be set up for teasing worthy praise as producers have hyped the TAC AR return as the last daily unvault that would finish the event with, um, a sweaty weapon. While some went nuts over it, most talked about pure disappointment.

The official account tweeted about the last unvault that finally ended the event, but the replies gave an opposite image altogether. Players came out with the guns blazing, calling it “low effort,” “miserable,” and “worst summer event yet.” @Mrshark23970325 just simply said, “This super event sucked ass,” and most of the standbys agreed with her in the replies. Even the rewards weren’t spared by the criticism, with players calling them “lackluster and dull” compared to the past.

Let’s get to the TAC AR. There is history with the gun-many versions, in fact. Some loved it, some hated it, and others weren’t too sure which version actually came back. @its_j1j asked the real questions: “Which of the 385 versions of the TAC AR are they giving us? The GOAT one? The decent one? The shit one?” Nothing official as of now, but the debate rages on.

Epic Games and their missed chances. Players like @RenclawFN wished Epic had gone mad for final unvaults: maybe Infinity Gauntlet or Infinity Blade for one day. “Imagine the generational run of them returning something like that,” they said. Instead? We got a gun that somewhat walked that thin line of “solid” and “meh.”

Structure-wise, the event took a beating too. Daily unvaults, sure, but items being pushed for just a day meant anyone who missed out got the short end of the stick. @BSK37270312 had a simple fix: “I wish there was a 15th day where all the unvaulted items would be available.” Seems fair right? But, nope, Epic stuck to their guns here, and the loot-ganged are hung in the air with no one to share it.

And the quests? Up for critique too. @j8hnb2010 pointed out a certain bug that basically just showed the wrong item (Thunderbolt of Zeus instead of the TAC AR), all the more irritating. And don’t forget those still clamouring for stuff like Deep End—Big shout-out to @Fortnitedude169 for keeping the hope alive.

So now what? With the summer event officially down and out, players’ eyes are on whatever Epic Games is prepping for the upcoming season. A big change for Battle Royale? New LTMs? Or, fingers crossed, something better? For now, though, Tactical Assault Rifle is back, the event is over, and the community verdict: it was a miss.

Maybe it is what kinda kept the community alive, with some funny reactions in-between “dead event anyway” by @Jacob6775627 and “@its_JustTurk said this summer event sucked super ass.” Those memes might have saved the entire event. Let us hope Epic takes the criticism seriously, for if there is one thing Fortnite players love even more than complaining, it’s a comeback.
