The server issues have bothered Fortnite gamers, and now it has boiled over. On Twitter, much frustration has been expressed about laggy servers-AGAIN. Randomly disconnecting and resetting lobbies, the backlog of issues is overwhelming the players who in turn are running to social media to air their grievances.

User Lucario_Umbreon blamed Epic Games for focusing on map makers instead of server stability, with the tweet, “All the money that could go into fixing the game is too busy being given to stupid map creators.” Ouch. But many people, such as Rose, have sought to downplay the matter, suggesting it might merely be her connection. With so many reports flooding in, it does seem hardly an isolated case.

Some bizarre glitches have also set in, with the skin changing back to default halfway through a match, with everything in emotes and loadouts lost. MistaBrandoVA summed up the frustration: “This season has been extra glitchy so far.” Meanwhile, Yin_NGMI joked that the server problems were the reasons for all his missed shots-we all know it’s a skill thing… maybe.

And the complaints just keep coming. Another one came from freaky_pmoneey15, who reported grinding levels for some time, then logging off and coming back to find their hard-earned XP gone. Then, there is talks about the infamous default skin bug where you get into a match lacking any cosmetics-cappfn recently went through that. “I was a default skin. No choice,” they tweeted. Ouch.

What might have been the true ordeal is an announcement that Epic Games would be taking a vacation soon. CecilSublett shared his thoughts, “They go on vacation Wednesday… the game is going to be even more broken with the update.” Yikes. The update might be the reminder before the calm, considering history.

Meanwhile, players are pouring their speculations about what the very next update will be. User i_love_jarad was wondering if XXXTentacion might be the next festival skin, and kk_mariana was wondering if the Street Fighter folks were coming soon. But really, at this point, players would just like for the servers to actually work.

This frustration has birthed many memes. Soulbound_TV joked that the servers “need a therapist, not a reboot,” to which I have to say: honestly? I agree. With bugs piling up, it’s actually not surprising that players like leo_Zen00 are calling for a “gaming revolution” to get Epic to fix them.

Are the servers going to be fixed anytime soon? Who really knows? But one thing is certain; Fortnite people have certainly had it with these old problems. Maybe Epic ought to start taking a breather from all their collabs and just make the game actually playable. Just a thought.
