And now comes the supreme punishment for us other Epic Games fans. The holders of a standard edition Battle Bus (regular black and white, non-titanium) were now granted every Battle Bus cosmetic except for the Battle Bus itself. Yes, you heard that right.”It’s like having some shoe accessories but no shoes.” Whatever happened to logic??

The news had come through a tweet from @_LoanDot that showed the unlocked cosmetics, to mixed reactions: some players were outright confused, some were laughing at the absurdity of it all, while others were just furious. Like, why would they give us decals, wheels, and other extras if we can barely use them on the actual Battle Bus?

The other player, @MegaVSPrimus, put it best: “So it’s like getting the aglets, laces and tongue of the shoes… without the shoes…”And honestly, that is probably the best analogy we have heard all day. Meanwhile, @TheMitch_TMZ went off to rant about how, for two years, Epic “secretly” held the Battle Bus before removing it from the Epic Store just so they could promote it. Messy.

But wait—it keeps getting weirder. One player, @IIISK1TZIII, claimed that he actually got the Battle Bus when others, such as @SpookyScaryShin, were rewarded with absolutely nothing. Then @duck_580 speculates this might be a bug due to the unlock never carrying over from Rocket League. Classic Epic Games really, huh?

The real question on people’s lips is this: When will the item store release the Battle Bus? Both @TimBoggs11 and @SeanLia4 asked this question, and honestly, we’d like to know, too. Because right now, it seems as though ESPN is just dangling these cosmetics in front of players like, “Look but don’t touch.”

Remember those titanium white Battle Bus owners? Some, like @MFiltini, claim that they can use both, while it seems others, like @HeadhunterBoi, lost out on their normal Battle Bus when switching platforms. Talk about inconsistencies.

At this point, it’s either numerous glitches or a series of oversights. One thing is certain, though: Players aren’t very happy about being given half a reward. Be it greed, poor communication, or a weird bug, the community is left scratching their heads.

So Epic… care to fill us in? Or at least drop the Battle Bus down in the shop so people can actually use these cosmetics? Just a thought.

For now, all we can do is wait and meditate if this ever gets fixed—or if the players are just going to keep looking at Battle Bus decals that they cannot even slap onto a Battle Bus. Wild times in Fortnite land.
