Epic Games finally announced this week who clutched the wins in Fortnite Division 1 Cups, and just let me tell you: the battle was WILD. Fighters came from every major region, with some well-established faces known in the competitive circuit and some new ones finding glories.
In EU, PabloWingu, Tjino9, and Fredoxie_ showed why they are considered top builders in the game. In the Middle East, Yassen1x and Fatlaa1X crushed the competition alongside SHRSHF (requests for an “Aura” shoutout in the comments-some inside jokes, maybe?).
Over in Brazil where EdRoadToGlory so joyfully claims, alongside loud_diguera and Felipersa_, performed very well indeed. NAC saw some good pop from Ajerss, Pollofn6, and acornfn, far west zlinkrain, and suddsfn seem to carry wtj Inact into the polis-op (Oh wait. What was I saying? Oh yeah, the inactive teammate scenario? We definitely need details!).
GazerFN, Vazen, and Bulldogz for OCE could very well credit the Aussies doing the 90s while the Asian set gave international glory some taste with MinipiyoFN, Rurayache32, and FuuKun11.
But here’s the spicy bit: Admittedly, the comment section mutates into an Epic suggestion box. Players DEMAND the following:
“Bring back solo cash cups” – nostalgic entry by Celyfnr
“Why are we adding boogie bombs in ranked” – cScawy complaining about the unskilled meta
“Plis quit the bat gloves” – PablobotFN pleading for item removals
“More tourneys please” – snowbotfv speaking on behalf of every competitive grinder
Then, the all-time classic: MarriottRees begging @FortniteStatus about ranked umbrella glitches. The guy just wants his cosmetic reward after being shafted by bugs. We’ve all had those moments.
The competitive scene is certainly hungry for events, with multiple replies clamoring for solo/duo cash cups and zero-build competitions, while vanilla drama spills out about somebody getting blocked by a “Rando Me Guy” (Fabiolinho97, spill the tea).
And here’s what is really crazy: Seeing Fortnite really branch out into the international esports arena. From Brazil to Asia, every region is teeming with killers popping off. And the community isn’t shy at all about telling Epic what they want to see next.
All in all, looking at those results, I am pumped to see these champions competing in the very near future. Some of them are seriously going to be an issue through next year in FNCS. But first, can we please bring back those solo cups? Just saying, let’s get boogie bomb nerfed while we’re at it.
Competitive Fortnite has had an undisturbed reign in terms of drama, passion, and some absolutely cracked gameplay. Congratulations to all the winners of this week; now go touch some grass until the next grind commences. Don’t forget to keep an eye on the upcoming Wolves Esports events as well!
