Here is a new clip that has gone inside the game, which is an uplifting type of dad humor as the dads get down with slick moves, and the Fortnite players are clearly having fun with this. The video, uploaded through the official Fortnite Twitter account, shows animated dads from different series-Cashmere, Hank Hill from King of the Hill-dancing in a wonderfully absurd way whose choreography any gamer would have been proud of. And they go on to say in equally absurd and amazing ways:
The viral clip quickly took over the internet, glamorizing dancing with characters of the likes of Cleveland Brown from Family Guy and Bob Belcher from Bob’s Burgers to what is apparently Cardi B’s “Up,” though full consensus has not yet been established on exactly which track it is. The energy is so contagious that a gamer even said: “Man would have a heart attack if he saw this. I can already hear the ‘BUAUAUAUAU,'” referencing how ridiculous these dads would maybe sound if they somehow came to real life.
Of course, there are always opinions when it comes to updates in Fortnite. Stan Smith from American Dad was sorely missed by some; for crying out loud; some even hissed in disgust over the ones they chose, Cleveland Brown instead of Stan Smith of the AMERICAN DAD? I hate y’all. Another person was begging for a Homer skin just so they could recreate the “I’m already dad” meme. Feels legit to me.
Taking the opportunity to remind Epic Games about the long-pending store rotation, one comment ran along “Day 1 of asking for hellfire dance and moonlit mystery to be in the store,” while another bellowed out, “Can someone please tell me when the Adventure Time skins are coming back?” Oh, the agony! And then there were those complaints whose testimony is somehow richer—just two or three days ago it was announced from some quarter that Fortnite is a “dogshit game” for choosing skins over fixes. Harsh? Certainly, but yours truly knows how crazy fanbases can be.
Other gamers are just vibing on this wholesome energy. “Happy Father’s Day to all the gaming dads out there!” said some random account, celebrating the joyous bond between parents and kids over gaming. And really? That is the true jackpot. Whether you are a griddy-dancing-in-game dad or the kid that watches in awe, Fortnite is just the weird city to witness those moments.
The next? Well, one thing is clear: maybe that’ll bring back that Homer skin; maybe an entirely new emote is about to drop and wreak internet havoc all over again. So unpredictable, so good. We should get on dad dance training right now!
