In the latest major Fortnite update for Blitz Royale, the game’s player base has had quite the polarizing topic to chatter about: Bending is now here again! You can say goodbye to ancient theory for water, earth, fire, or air-bending abilities coming back forever! On the official Fortnite Twitter account, the only words about the updates were, “Become a Bender. The Avatar Returns in Blitz Royale’s newest update – water, earth, fire, and air-bending are back!” Now, they’re having the great classic type of seizures.
The update, therefore, brings back the adored bending mechanics, preparing the players to unleash their inner Aang or Korra and kill. Waterbending may freeze enemy fighters; earthbending sets everything on fire, or maybe they’ll just set everything on fire; this level of chaos is heightened. And then, when you add the already little time, fast pace of Blitz Royale, the matches just get more intense.
But with the major update, there arise…certain issues. Right after the patch went live, the replies became flooded with complaints of matchmaking glitches, network quality errors, and general frustration with not being able to get into a game at all. One of the players, @ToolOfOpiate, said it took them 10 tries just to get into a match; another, @PGrosinsky59776, completely panicked, thinking that during the update, their account had just been deleted. Oof. Fortnite Status did address some of the concerns and assured the players that the server officials were currently working to find a solution to the issue, but you know how the situation can set in on launch day.
Meanwhile, some jocks were busy focussing on what the update didn’t cover. @icyfrostyk straight-up asked, “Still no Sokka skin 😢,” which—fair. Where’s the love for the boomerang king? Others, including @RealGojifan01, decided now would be a great time to put in their requests for Ghostbusters skins and old Crew packs; might as well, right?
But bugs and missing content along, most players are just hyped to throw hands (or elements) in Blitz Royale. @Internethaver1 called it “actually fun,” going on about how matches are faster and loot distribution is better than in normal modes. And honestly? Same. Nothing beats the adrenaline rush of dodging a fireball while yeeting a rock at someone’s head.
So, Fortnite latest update is a mixed bag—awesome new abilities, some technical hiccups, and a whole lot of players screaming into the void about skins they want. But if you can actually get into a game, it’s a blast. Just… maybe give the servers a minute to breathe.
