The news broke over Fortnite, the announcement made their ears bleed-the Blitz mode would be running for some four weeks with new content in tow. The official Fortnite account on Twitter said to expect new loot drops, map changes, and maybe a few sneak-eyed collaborations. Well, judging by every reaction, it’s a pure pandemonium.
But then, what is Blitz mode? For those that missed the train: Bridge to faster, hard-action-ridden Battle Royale; faster storm closure; faster loot spawns; and faster match endings than you could ever say “Victory Royale.” Such a way became a rave with casual players who wanted some action but didn’t favor the usual slow-underground grind. Yet it has its critics, with some hardcore members saying, “too easy,” while others form prayers requesting it to stay forever.
Mixed feelings of excitement and salt graced the reply section of that tweet. One @SneakyGameBoy said, “This is more fun than Reload. NGL.” Going at it, @RampageIronkiz unloaded a rant about the mode “was amazing at the start” and now is just “like any other game made sht as fck.” Oh dear, somebody get that guy a ranked mode, please.
And then the theories around partnerships began. @RekkaMachine sought to preempt if Marvel items were on the cards, while @DSmash19 wondered about the return of anime mythics. Given that Epic can throw out insanely big crossovers, well, honestly, anything is possible. Speaking of which, don’t leave Butter Barn stans hanging—@RiftJonesy demanded straight up that the iconic landmark should return.
And talking about highlights in the comments section, @AXIOM_Protocol joined and chimed, “My beloved,” paired with a heart emoji. That’s a mood. On the other hand, @medubins was basically “SHAKING ON THE FLOOR FROM EXCITEMENT,” so relatable.
It’s not so in unison to that, though; @tibooooot went full-out screaming, “Bro we don’t give a SHIT change the maps of Reload, the new ones SUCK u assholes.” It’s harsh, but hey, they’re like Llamas-everybody has one.
That is the big question now: will the Blitz stay? Some players are begging for it with teary-eyed emojis, one of them being @AichaLaribii. Another camp, begging for the return of parkour mechanics, includes @YeetBsbakery, who must feel that a combat acrobat boon is worthless without it.
That said, whatever changes Epic makes, Fortnite keeps fresh in the mind of each fan or user. Being in four weeks left to updates with new surprises and with many groans of broken matchmaking (shoutout to @DRNB_); the chaos trains aren’t stopping any time soon.
Start throwing punches with your Nitro Fist (and yes, @NotFakeDraco assures us that it’s back) or don’t. Either way, Blitz mode in Fortnite is gonna be here-albeit momentarily.
