With the release of the newest Fame Pass from the house of Mediatonic, players have gotten a litany of discussion points-one side cheer them on, others curse their fortunes, forcing yet another to ask: “where can I find those noodles?” The unorthodox early launch brought with it a very silly new costume of Oodles of Noodles that, in a way, will quickly become the go-to meme. As much as the community seemed divided, the costume surely brought some fun energy into the game.
Onto some fun stuff: Some players are already called the noodle costume ‘the hunger.’ Kudos were returned for pretty much all rounds through the Fame Pass, so to say, much to the approval of long-time followers such as Nanoboy33, who termed a “great QoL update.” Oh, and the Snow Owl cosmetic from the Fame Pass has been praised even among these circles by the likes of Lex for much of its sleek design.
But the people aren’t catching the good vibes all the way up. A big backlash came from Chris2.0 asking, “Are there only three new levels after two months of radio silence?” While Zendex trashed cluster mode, calling it “absurd trash.” There are no finals on those maps. There is also the freezing issue on PS4. Ethan Smith said, “The performance is worse than ever.” Oof.
An update to the challenge system followed with daily tasks reduced from five to three-a change that ThornyRose and pikam22 did not appreciate. Some feel coerced into playing modes they do not enjoy just so that they can progress whilst others miss the freedom of grinding everything in Explore.
Then there are the bizarrely specific accusations over whether this Fame Pass confidentially acts as a Pokémon collab. Pierce Ng (NekoMat331) went full conspiracy theory tying the new cosmetics to Sygna Suit Bede and Neo Street Styles Greninja from the Pokémon games. Whether that is a stretch or an observation from another dimension is up for struggle.
And, naturally, the community sure keeps begging for maps with every Fall Guys update. Leon Jimmy wants Hoop Chute for team modes while GrandSlamCam still remains scarred from Bubbling Brook.
So what do you think? The new Fame Pass does have its highs (with noodle bean supremacy) and lows (performance woes, sparse content). That much is sure-the Fall Guys community had never been one that would just walk quietly into the night. Whether you play for fashion or are angry at the lack of maps, life in the Blunderdome is certainly never dull. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’d go grab some ramen.
