FromSoftware graced players with a nightmare via the fresh Nightreign update, and now with things getting horrific, Embers have risen in anger and protest against this insane difficulty jump. 3-man co-op, a new extremely difficult boss fight with the Nightlord, and 48 hours of limbo to prepare before the darkness actually sets in: Yep, the players have two full days in limbo, gathering their pack before the Nightlord comes knocking on their door.

The original PlayStation Tweet teased it: “1 more run outta do it…” Well, that’s probably a lie. Anyone who has ever played Elden Ring in their life knows that one more run turns into like twenty more deaths. But that really is the point in FromSoftware’s masochistic design system.

The community reaction stands divided: some are hyped for the new co-op dynamics, while others are already railing against matchmaking issues. One user, @akiraisheree, said it is nearly impossible to play solo unless you have an open NAT type, which is definitely not good. In contrast, @ColdMoney21 just bluntly asked, “Why co-op? That’s a waste.” Bruh, have you seen how hard these Nightlords hit?

Then came the usual console wars. @MandyTalking ranted how PS5 is “the worst gaming console I’ve ever been on,” and ok, sure, Jan. Meanwhile, @vladandrew24 had to remind everyone that Nightreign is also on Steam and Xbox. Because, apparently, those reading skills are lacking.

The real punch in the gut is that the Nightlord fight isn’t even the end. @Itsdatboy3 dropped the bombshell of still having to fight the final boss in those torturous 48 hours-too-real-for-trolls hours. From Software was really saying: “You thought you were done? LOL.”

Nightreign is currently on the PS5 and PS4 for those gutsy enough. Don’t expect it to go easy on you because this is Elden Ring, and if mercy was what you were after, you were in the wrong place.
